After finally evolving to an incineroar, ‘Hobbes’ decided that being a captive pokemon wasn’t really for him anymore - nor was being a pokemon at all, actually

So he left his trainer, taught himself to talk, and started living as a human being with clothing and even using money (after figuring out how it works) to buy things. The only thing he was lacking was a pokemon of his own

He’d been given to his old trainer from a professor, so logically he decided to go and ask for one of his own to properly begin his journey

Unfortunately Professor Baobab didn’t have any pokemon to offer him. She did, however, have a handful of new interns, and didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to study Hobbes’ uniqueness

Hobbes picked the one he wanted, nicknamed him ‘Rye’, and so his journey with his new partner begins!
