This is going into scraps soon
This is a revision of me and Mike's dream house... I didn't like the "McMansion" look of my previous drawing and wanted something that was more in-tuned with the natural scenery we plan to live around (Our goal so far is looking like Alberta, between Glacier National Park and Calgary.) Giant, land-eatting buildings remind me too much of suburban life, something me and Mike want to escape from.
After my latest trip to California, and attending an outdoor wedding in a redwood forest, I've decided that it would be better to spread out the house into maybe two buildings and have them blend into the land itself, perferably up against a mountain or a hill. At the top is the main cabin with the tall A-frame roof, but more compact this time... though I think there'll still be some small wings on either side. This contains the living room, master bedroom and bathroom, the kitchen and dining area, and maybe a guest room. Down the hill is a seperate cabin built into the land containing the rec room, and some more guest bedrooms, out front is an outdoor porch. The whole thing would be surounded by forest and lots of flora. My goal here is to disturb as little trees as possible, building arround them.
