Sos I've been kinda interested in learning how to do 3D stuff lately. I think it'd be an interesting thing to mesh with my 2D work, and the meshing can happen any number of ways.
It's very obvious that this is the result of strictly following a tutorial series by Andrew Price (aka Blender Guru) which you can find on YouTube right now. I learned a lot about Blender as a program, which I've only ever used before to alter stuff from or for FeralHeart, so maybe I'll be able to utilize it more in future. This pic isn't going to win any awards or go in any portfolio, but I learned from it and that's what matters.
There's Die Mad being a greedy little bastard, about to eat two donuts almost as big as his head. I like the idea of blending paintings and 3D, but this is a very poor example of it and I don't like the end product. Whatever, got to test new brushes.

Ooooh! Nice to see you dipping a finger into 3D, Heebjeeb! I only have experience in Maya and 3Ds Max myself - but the idea of using 3D renders as a basis for lighting is a pretty dang appealing one. Tough though to be sure - 3D renders often have phenomenal lighting, but they'll always have a certain amount of noise that gives them a digital, computer-rendery look. I'd almost recommend using 3D models as a grayscale skeleton, and using your brushes to add color and texture at the same time? Might eliminate some of that hard line between painting and 3D!
Apologies for the text wall - this is a super interesting concept, and I hope to see further experimentation with it from ya!

the idea of combining 3d and 2d is very appealing to me because there's so many possibilities with how you combine them. 2d character in 3d environment, 3d character in a 2d environment, overpainting on a 3d frame, sculpting outwards from a 2d piece, using 3d sculpts as reference for 2d characters, rendering something basic and then putting an entire painting over it. hell i've used 3d to visualize more complex paintings. It Really Works
pardon my mini text wall too haha. i'd like to experiment further alright, so hopefully that'll be interesting to see!
