Getting stuck is a problem, but not if one takes it easy and work your way out slowly. However, if there's a tide that can come up and drawn you while stuck, then you have a problem. I've never had that problem, since I never found much to experiement with, and certainly not any deeper than about two feet. That's what comes of living in a big city and not owning a car. It isn't like ayone would drive me out to a likely spot. And now I'm too old to care.
