Inspired by the beautiful and often charming Bunny Babes drawn by Megan Giles, I thought I try to unravel her secret as to why her Lagamorphic characters were so appealing. I did discover one of the secrets was to combine the aspects which makes the human female face so attractive and enhance the facial features of a rabbit to meet those perimeters. The trick is to keep the eyes large and expressive, and reduce the nose and muzzle to a more appealing size. I ended up placing my version in a "County Fair" setting in the mid 22nd Century, at a time when most the "Anthropomorphicals" were still considered "Livestock," and not quite "People."

Megan's "secret", IMHO, boils down to the realistic (i.e., "normal human") proportions in many of her "bunny babes." In contrast to the more exaggerated, cartoony style preferred by many cartoonists (myself included). Her work also benefits from natural-looking poses and clothing and interesting composition. She also displays, at times, an strong grasp of symbolism (in particular "morphic.jpg" and "tanomay.jpg" which, sadly, I can't seem to find on her FA or DA galleries).
She's also very good at drawing centaurs.

Mmmm, centaurs!
There are multiple reasons for why certain artists or themes have widespread appeal. It's almost easier to find something popular and identify possible reasons than to try to incorporate them into a new drawing. It's not just the details, it's also how they're put together.

Have you ever read "Gun, With Occasional Music"? Very funny - and thought provoking near future story set at a time when most the biotech "Anthropomorphicals" were still considered "Livestock."
