Specter obviously had had enough of this Mavericks antics. Tracking the dastardly reploid to a forest where it obviously thought it could elude him was going to be its final mistake. He had observed the Maverick closely. Studied its motives and movements to a degree bordering on uncanny and knew exactly what it was going to do even before it knew itself. All of this processed and calculated to a degree so that as soon as the rogue reploid took its first step from a tree the laser blast from Specter's rifle lanced across the space between them and hit exactly as calculated. The Maverick stopped moving, looking at Specter in disbelief as its fusion core went critical due to the small hole in it. A second later the Maverick exploded in a shower of energy and metal.

"Mission accomplished," Specter radioed back to Hunter HQ as he shouldered his rifle and took a last look at the remnants of his target. "They never do seem to learn, do they?" he commented to himself. He eqearly awaited his next target to come over the com. Maybe this one would be more of a challenge.
