I think you did a great job bringing the idea for this to life. The expressions, poses and gesture are perfect. Murk has this great combination of "Friendly", "Vicious" and "Mischievous". I wonder what it feels like to have a .50BMG fly that close to your head? xD
I like the subtle changes you've made to your shading and highlighting recently. They're small, but I think a substantial improvement, both in terms of adding texture and also adding more colour to your work. This one, I think is particularly good and I think the reason for it is that you've used a lot more saturation than you normally do, possibly as a consequence of using yellow for the highlights or just using multiple highlight layers. I tend to go the other way and I use a lot of saturation, so I've often thought in the past that your pictures were undersaturated. This one is bright and colourful and I think especially with the comic style you use that having rich colour is very effective.
You sure went the extra mile drawing that background too, I can understand why you didn't want to cover it up. I really like the grass growing up around the roots of that tree and those fungi growing on the side of the tree to the right are a very clever touch.
And without wanting to say "I told you so", I think the dialogue looks great like this. Splitting it up was a good idea, I think it emphasises the idea that Murk is treating this like a conversation even though the other guy can't reply. =P
Anyhow, great work getting this done and thanks for another great picture of Murk! You've made some really cool improvements just in the recent time since I've been in the UK and I'm excited to see where you get to next! :D
