And now, something I squeezed in last weekend for myself, a project idea that came about on a whim when I started looking up carnival costumes on google. Since my theme this month was Rainforest, I really wanted to showcase a few tropical faeries and these are the exact kind of costumes I envision some of them wearing, and the opportunity to draw Maraschino in one was too good to pass up.
So insistent was she to be drawn, in fact, that I ended up doing a 4-hour stream while I worked on her, and that was turned into a speedpaint, which you can watch right here!

Ooh, this is gorgeous! I love her outfit so much, especially her headdress and all those wonderfully wild and elegant feathers. It gives her such a beautifully exotic look, and the tiny little detail you put into everything is just breathtaking. I love all of those tiny, delicate chains and the flower shaped clusters of rubies dotted here and there. And the sparkles in her hair and in the feathers are such a nice touch, and give this such an enchanting and fantastic vibe. You can just imagine that there's a little bit of faerie magic at work here, though she hardly needs to be the most beautiful and captivating lady around. Red and black look so stunning on her, too, and work so well with her natural fur colors. Amazing work all around!
