My first time making official sushi! EEEEE I'm so happy! I made these last week <3
Shrimp Tempura rolls are my absolute favorite sushi aside from Seared Salmon.
Usually I don't like shrimp, but I love tempura shrimp! And the avacado in the rolls with the shrimp is just soooo goooood * ¬* And the white sauce, muurrrhuurrr yummy yummy yuuummmyyyyy....
SO! I tried making my own for once! I got a bamboo sushi kit with a roller and a spoon to help me out!
First I had to make the rice- http://japanesefood.about.com/od/ri.....tocookrice.htm

You need: About 5 Jumbo Tempura shrimps
1 Fresh Avacado
1/2 Cucumber
3 cups of Sushi rice (NOT long grain or instant!!!!)
1 package of roasted seaweed (the big square ones)
2 tbs Miso paste OR 1 small packet of powered miso soup base
1 tbs Mayonnaise (or 3 if you're using powder)
Then I cooked the pre-battered shrimp in the oven. I'd hand batter them, but I cook by myself a lot so there's no time >__<
While the rice is cooking, prepare the vegetables. Slice the avacado in half, take out the pit and take off the skin. Slice it into long, thin strips. Do the same with the cucumber, peeling the skin is optional. Slice the shrimp in half lengthwise.
In a bowl, mix the mayo with the miso paste/powder until it's evenly mixed. Put this to the side for now.
Prepare your sushi rolling mat and place 1 square of seaweed on the mat. Spread out the rice on the mat first, then place the avacado and cucumber down the center in a long row horizontally. Spread a little white sauce on your shrimp, cut off the tails and line the shrimp with the avacado and cucumber. Roll the sushi, then cut it into short 1" pieces.
