One of the Wrath of Khorne Bloodthirsters, he holds a unique position among his kind that grants him a kind of clarity of thought and action. He, as well as the daemons and rare cultists who follow him, embody Khorne's rarely acknowledged (even by the Blood God himself) aspects of martial honor, justice, and courage. These allow Ar'Munda to keep his rage suppressed, and to fight with honor and dignity. That said, he is still a proud Bloodthirster, and he and his Knights of the Brass Skull will still charge into battle to claim the lives and skulls of their foes.
That said, he appreciates when the weak stand up to those stronger than themselves, and he has a high tendency to show up when called by those who seek to rebel, so long as they swear to fight with honor. He also serves a secondary role for his lord, which is tied to one of the things that can make him loose his composure and become an avatar of rage: Should an unworthy skull or skulls be offered up to Khorne, especially those of children, the infirm, and the elderly (unless they were fighting as well), Ar'Munda is the next to be sent after them should Karanak be already occupied, or Khorne not deem the target worth sending his favored hound after.
The Knight of the Brass Skull's rage is ignited by such insults to his god's honor, and will be just as merciless in his hunt as Karanak, followed by his brass-clad host of Bloodletters. Above all else, honor and duty being insulted will make him become like his fellow Bloodthirsters, and he will strike down those who insult such acts, especially when the strong insult the courage of the weak, down with his chain-broadsword. Otherwise, his loyalty to his god is without question, and should anyone manage to summon him he will carry out the act asked of him to the fullest in a display of his and his lord's honor.

Probably, given how purely focused on bloodlust the Legion is. Perhaps if the Butcher's Nails were dropped prior to the corruption or even in the future, a select few Traitor Astartes could also be shown a more justifiably vindictive path as opposed to the usual Khornate desires amplified to very obviously Khorne-pleasing levels.
Then again, the entire Legion is much too far gone for that, with how simply focused on blood for their Chaos Deity they are.

As he tends to do in regard to most of his brethren, with how open they are in being savagely efficient as opposed to just being efficient and honorable while skull-harvesting and allowing blood to flow, doing well to keep in line and focused on an honorable hunt.
Perhaps hearing of what Angron and his World Eaters became thanks to the homeworld-brewed Archaeotech that was the Butcher's Nails disturbed the Bloodthirster, hearing that the Imperium could augment its people to reduce them to such a blind, unthinking rage, and to enjoy it in ways similar to how Slaaneshi cultists seek excess. These similarities and the obvious hatred of anything Slaaneshi lead to an epiphany, and a yearning to minimize that deviant of a Chaos God's pleasures from pain he caused, leading to his current state as a notably aberrant and clean Greater Daemon in the Third Host. This earns him the ire of his peers, but it does not matter so long as their ire fuels their own murderous anger, and by extension their patron god. He merely does his part to ensure the blood of heroes spills.

Indeed, so long as it is a time-efficient killing to avert the fueling of Slaanesh. As for the rage, it is noted that his vindictive and honorable views of battle will lead to rage when overtly vain and unwarranted skulls are harvested, or if a particular conflict turns cheap and leaves him unfulfilled, much like Khorne's own endless yearning for murder.
