Of the many dangerous Pokémon that call the war-torn landscape of Grabenfeld home, few are as respected and feared as the sleek, vicious Schockwyv. This Flying/Steel-type Pokémon is known to live in small flocks of five to eight members, though given that each animal is roughly the size of a Cassowary those numbers are still enough to give any Trainer pause. Found in the rocky border mountains and patrolling the skies above the cratered battlefields, Schockwyv fills a niche not entirely unlike that of Skarmory in other regions. It is a high-velocity hunter, using dynamic movement, plunging dives and the sheer weight of its large body to bring down prey with little effort.
They spend most of their time high in the atmosphere, drifting on updrafts and high winds above the old trenches, craters and bombed out towns of their homeland. Unlike many of the other creatures native to Grabenfeld, these Pokémon have developed as they are not due to the influence of long-term warfare, but simply as a matter of course. Their pale underbellies conceal them among clouds, while their metallic upper body sheen can dazzle and distract prey and foes alike. Normally thought to have black eyes, the flying reptiles actually have nictitating membranes that protect their eyes from sunlight and high winds, with the actual eye color being a deep, rich orange.
Of their many weapons, Schockwyv makes the most use out of its sharp claws, though it can easily use the steel-sharp edges of its wings, bladed spade tail, thick skull and dagger-like teeth in a scrap. Its jaws are especially powerful, having developed additional musculature to allow it to bite through shells and bones alike to feed.
If one wishes to capture a Schockwyv, one must be prepared for their remarkable speed, durability and tenacious attitude. They're prone to retreat if things look too grim, and aren't above calling in their flock to support them if needed. One of the most common tactics used by Grabenfeld Trainers is to use native Ground-types to lock it down in combat before using one of several custom balls, such as the incendiary Blast Ball, to subdue the creature.
