Tobias Linus Southgate is Humphry's Great-Grandfather who served in the British Army during WWI, he was better known to his comrades as "Professor" since he was teacher before he join the fight. He returned to Teaching when the war ended and eventually married an American named Veronica and lived with her in the states where he taught at the University level teaching History until he retired and lived out his days with his Wife in a cabin in upstate New York.
