Jan, I do love the way you use Southernisms in this comic. Yeah, I know the creator is writing the script but, it still looks great to this southerner. Too many non-southern people misuse Southernisms so I know the creator is from the south or, at the very least, has friends from the south. LOL.

I will never tire of thanking Jan for the great way he brings my scripts to life and adding nice touches and details.

I was born in Florida, but spent A LOT of time in Marietta (north of Atlanta). I consider north Atlanta my second home. This is why Vicki's town is in the north Georgia hills.


(Hmm, maybe in a future story, I'll have to have Vicki and gang visiting The Varsity near GA Tech for lunch and surviving. *ha ha*)

Yeah, I remember you saying that Apopka is actually in north Georgia. Having lived in Jacksonville for almost 11 years, when I started reading Vicki Fox before its hiatus, I thought that Apopka was Apopka, Florida.

How to explain.

Apopka in Vicki's world is named after Apopka, Florida. I live in the rural area south of Apopka, Florida.

Apopka in Vicki's world is based on the real north Georgia town, Dahlonega. Dahlonega was a town I would frequently visit over weekends when I worked in Atlanta. And, yes, Dahlonega has a college and a gold museum.

I remember you saying that Apopka in the Vicki Fox comic was based on Dahlonega. However, I don't remember you saying that you lived near Apopka, FL. I don't recollect every visiting Apopka but I definitely have heard of it.
