I took this at Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve in Fort Myers, Florida in 2006.
If I remember correctly the metallic shine you see is not pollution but a natural oils these particular trees give off. Sadly at times the run off from the roads surrounding the park do bring oils and other pollutions into the Preserve.
