Obviously, though if you've been paying attention in recent years, things have gotten extreme.

Social Media has gotten to the point where people go on whole sensationalist campaigns similar to what the tabloids did to Michael Jackson, where someone does one little thing, and then all the keyboard warriors will come out with half-truths and straight-up lies to try to look the target look as horrible as possible, blowing things entirely out of proportion. It's *far* beyond the "lol u suk" of old, people will literally accuse you of the most heinous shit imaginable, and will spread misinformation around until it sticks.

Social Media has literally become the modern day tabloids.

Yeah plus to make matters worse you got creators of comics,game and movies calling long time fans "Nazis". Just because they mildly didn't like something they did. But I get ya it's a real bad time for everyone.
