Sauda Tafara (clean ref) by TheTiedTigress
Meet Sauda.
She's spent her entire life in the ghetto, struggling to get by amongst many other impoverished people, and dealing with drunk parents who pretty much left her to raise her younger siblings and run the household on her own since she was 11 years old.
Her rough youth and neighbourhood often caused her to get in trouble when she got older and wanted to get away from all the responsibility forced on her. Then one day she got a wake up call when she was facing some serious jail time after being framed for a liquor store robbery gone bad, the robbers being her own parents claiming she was there as well and shot the store owner.
While she never had a solid alibi she was spared a prison sentence mainly due to a lack of concrete evidence against her and the fact she managed to convince the jury she would better her life and that her younger siblings would need her rather then a foster home.
Since then she really did turn her life around, taking care of her brothers and sisters and scraping together enough savings to get them into a decent school and keeping them out of the same trouble she went through untill they were old enough to move on on their own. While her siblings all moved on to a better life she remained behind, feeling a bit lost and without a purpose and slipping into depression. Eventually she snapped out of it once she noticed many people in the neighbourhood still had similar troubles as she had, and she decided to try and make a difference for them as she had all those years for her siblings. Since then she had become somewhat of a neighbourhood "grandma" to the local kids and youths, providing them with a safe and carefree place to go for some positive energy, even steering some youngsters back on the right path, particularly Lin and Aia to whom especially she's trying to act like a mom and try keep them from gettign into any serious trouble.
