At long last, it is done! A commission I took this past year at MFF for Barski, who essentually gave me his reference and some information about things he likes, then let me run wild. I decided an image of Barski, his Ferruginous Hawk character resting on a tree and surveying the surrounding mountains and forest would make for an interesting illustration. However, at the time of concepting/deciding on a composition, I didn't think about how complex and time consuming this much background would take to render in full detail.
In the end, I think I learned a lot. In some ways this piece is exactly like I thought it would turn out and in some ways it deviated, but nonetheless I'm happy with where it's at currently.
Enjoy!
