This 1957 Studebaker Transtar Pickup is the first I've seen or photographed. I just wish the owner would have taken a little time to wipe off the bugs it collected on the way to the car show. Meh.

It does! For a long time now, I’ve thought that Studebakers were years ahead of other brands of the same era, in terms of design.

They were a pretty cool looking truck. I can't remember where I used to see one. Certainly not common!

There is, or used to be a Studebaker Avanti that belonged to a person in town here. I haven't seen it around in a while though.

I’ll have to check and see if Wikipedia has production numbers. This is the first Transtar I’ve seen. But then, there are only four or five Studebaker’s at most on display even at our largest car show in the area.

In some export markets, "Studebaker" was replaced by "Packard" for some reason.
