Seems little to none of my advise was heeded. This, should be labeled as “Crusader” not “Templar”.
It seems the artist did some homework and did well enough on the tabard, but no Templar could or would have carried a gaudy decorative sword, for starters. Nor would there have been any colour besides the red cross markings.

Furthermore, no Templar Knight would dream of drawing any weapon in a church, as it was strictly forbidden. Any who did faced tribunal. It was rare to carry weapons to mass or any other ceremony in a church.
However, Crusaders were not vowed into any monastic order of any kind. As such, were not held to any particular restrictions on equipment, or conduct.
