I'm sorry I can't get this tune right...
Mom,
I was just thinking before going to mass this morning. Do you remember the last Fourth of July we spent together? Everyone came together, it was almost like old times! For once I don't think I burned everything on the grill, for a change... Mostly... Brother came up from Florida, Sister was here with her kids. Even the cousins showed. Heh it took us a little work to drag you out onto the porch, but between Brother and I we got your wheelchair safely down our makeshift ramp. The evening sun painted the sky a warm orange, and it wasn't too hot that year for a change. Brother got a Walmart set of fireworks, and we took turns setting them off on an old cookie sheet dad had scavenged from a flea market years ago. Heh, for a cheeseball display, it wasn't that bad, and the finale was actually rather spectacular!
Then we got a real treat, Penn's Woods had their own fireworks display we could see perfectly from the porch. that was the first year that they did it, and we all got to see it together as a family. Thinking back on it, I'm thankful for the memory. It was an awesome way for us to spend our last Independence day together...
We will all join you eventually. You, dad, all your brothers and sisters...
Things will be better when we are all together again. I wonder what the fireworks will be like when The Lord is in a festive mood?
