Cade is a designer, and where he lives, fashion isn't categorized by gender, but rather by day and night. Diurnal folks tend to wear warm bright colors and show off lots of skin, while nocturnal folks wear cool dark colors and cover most skin.
Cade turned that on its head. His designs wowed the fashion world by mixing elements of diurnal and nocturnal (since most folks are mixed race like he is), and just lookin' your best no matter what. He plays with colors that look best on you, not what colors your internal clock says you should wear.
