Perhaps things aren't quite what they seem and this is actually a fairly benign plant, not carnivorous as one might expect but that is actually a sort of telepathic predator that feeds of the mental energies of its prey's emotions and likes to have a mixture of emotions particularly favouring terror, unease, feelings of helplessness and frantic laughter, this being the usual method of feeding.

The plant produces an alluring smell, which attracted the wolf and enticed him to sniff the plant closely at which point he was bound in the vines and the bloom lowered over his head, so he's both restrained and also having the feelings of being confined in darkness and perhaps fear of suffocation though there's probably just enough oxygen for him to breathe, as the plant feeds on his emotions. The vines will tickle his soles, the pads and between his toes slowly and leisurely drawing out his suffering as long as possible until the plants appetite is finally sated and Reddy succumbs to exhaustion and unconsciousness. The plant will then gently release him, and indulge itself with a little playful teasing of the sleeping wolf's feet before leaving him be, though hoping such a satisfying meal will happen along a game some time.

Wonderful take on the inner workings of the plant! x3 It's intelligence comes through the act of absorbing the wolfs energy, very capable of handling his victims :3
