I love DJ equipment, even if I don't know what any of it is.
I ended up taking a bunch of pictures around college here of DJ tech and made alittle study of it.

Well the sliders are the fader sliders, they control the output for each individual channel (input). The black dials are the pan knobs. They control what side which the sound from that input comes out of (left right). The red knobs control the monator speakers in which the performers can hear what they are playing/ saying. There seems to be 4 monator channels on this particular board. The 4 Blue knobs control the EQ or equlizer. These knobs help to better the sound output by boosting certian frequencies that would make the input sound better. The white knobs at the top are your input attenuators. They make sure the input is not distorted. Distortion (if you don't know already) sounds horrible and makes the sound grany. Finaly at the top you have yout input connectors where your XLR or your 1/8 inch cables go into. There are lots of knobs and buttons on here other than these, and to save space I think it be best to not list what they all do.
P.S. I didn't know if the reason for posting this pic was to request assistance on how a sound board works, but I decided to post anyway.
