Chapter 4: Tony Redgrave
Avalos at night is when the city shined to is eternal glory and many to celebrated to festivity; Avalos is founded of millions people in the safety of behind gigantic wall. Once the city was invaded by the Northstars but luckily; a black dragoness who managed to save the town from the invaders even including with the help of a gunslinger who help with the soldiers inside the city. But one person who didn’t get any requisition from the invasion but instead treated as a background; his name is Tony Redgrave, a journalist, a manger and a retire Iron Banner soldier; many people however aren’t aware of Tony’s old life when he was part of the Northstars military or the fact of his publishing series call “Soul-Earth” which only few have aware of his books series but in truth, he never finished it or the fact he even care for continue finishing the story at all.
Tony Redgrave who was sitting outside of a booth waiting for his food to be ready; Tony was consider as an drifter, which he only ware a red jacket cowboy pants and rusty brown boots. The man took a sip of his liquor drinking the night away, watching many who were partying from the festival; few times many who have known Jack, would ask him when he would comeback or about a date and which them were all women. Toney who was little annoyed about this situation; problem for him over a year, he wasn’t get the credit even he is the owner of Crimson Death, instead is Jack or Erica.
“Sorry ladies I have no idea when he will return.” Which he didn’t have any clue where he’s have been.
“Perhaps he’s busy fighting bandits again” All the girls giggled and all imagen him in their minds “You know I blame the dragon, she takes all the attention!”
“Great….IS MY FOOD READY!” Tony yelled at contusion stand demanding for his food, so he can leave and away from the fan girls. However the girls continue talking about Erica’s perfect body and complain for wanted to be her. “Forget it!”
However as soon he just got out from his chair, the waiter who came out from the kitchen and placed Tony’s takeout food on the table “Foods ready!”

He can see the shop from few steps away and this part of the town empty for the night; then he notice the door seemed half way budge, not fully closed properly and which is a sign of a break in. Tony pulled his knife out from under his jacket holding firmly to the grip and then he notice a clue on the concrete, it was footprints of a human feet however it has few similarities, of a mutt.
“Damn Lycanthrope!” Tony charge through the door; however he saw the intruder Lycanthrope resting on Jack’s desk, resting her foot.
The artic fox gulped, unsuspected any human would come in here; however choice she had to do as any Lycanthrope had always done in the past, kill anyone who seen her but. She chose not to attack him but instead, she gets out of the desk with passed; Toney who was almost near her almost to attack her.
“No! No….I mean you know harm!” The artic fox coward herself as she lay on her knees for forgiveness “Sorry I have nowhere to stay, Erica mention that I can stay here until they get back…Please don’t hurt me!” Alice have indeed killed humans in her long life but she promise to herself to not attack the humans, so she chose to play as a defenseless Lycanthrope “Please don’t tell any humans that I’m here!” She notice he was taking the bait; she however didn’t know who is this human but she sees the human as an intruder.
As soon as Tony was about to paten her shoulder, he was knock to the ground and soon the artic fox was on top of him, placing a knife near his throat.
“You are an intruder, I vow myself that I will protect Jack’s and Erica’s home from any intruders!”
“What! Are you stupid girl? look genius I’m the owner of this building. I’m Tony Redgrave the manager of Crimson Death!”
“You’re the……Opps” Alice did remember from exploring around the building, she did saw a room somewhere that has a label someone with a name Tony Redgrave. She felt so embarrassed that she turn red, luckily her white fur blocks the human part of her; she gets up and quickly helped pick up the human back to his feet “I’m so sorry, please don’t kick me out….” Her stomach interrupted her and asking for food.
Tony who has a genital kind heart, decided to let her stay; he open the box and picks a chunk of meat from the box and gave to the Lycanthrope. The Lycanthrope who was unware of the humans offer and which she was hesitated to grab it.
“Take it…By the way what’s your name madam?” He asked
“Alice…thanks”
Tony who officially let her stay and offer her, his food; including cleaning up the mess that the Lycanthrope made. Tony seemed curios about this young lady, even including why she was roaming around at his home but one thing he still wonders about is his employer went including the dragoness went off too? He notice that the Lycanthrope is not armed expect she is using Jack’s lucky knife from his desk, however Tony was wasn’t inspected that a Lycanthrope hasn’t outgrow this building even if she is in her state. He heard stories about, when a Lycanthrope transformed into their animal form; they supposed grow almost near to fifty feet or depends on their physical attributes they can reach up high to hundred feet, strangely. Alice seemed to be remain at her human size at six feet and not out grown in this building.
“Alice, can I ask you question?”
“Sure! Ask away” she rested herself on the roof while kicking back and forth with her legs.
“I know when your kind transform at night, you go change whatever animal you change into. How come you still remain your human size in that form?”
“OH! Easy, all I do is channel my energy and poof like that. Some of my kind however had a hard time doing it because it requires a lot of focus. My late mother taught me this trick.” Happily to tell the human her ability.
“Fascinating!” Tony scratch his chin with fascination; he finished cleaning all of the mud that was on the wooden floor
“Tony? How about I ask you a question?” She leap of the roof support beams while landing on fours like a cat, as she wag her tail like a normal mutt.
“Sure ask away” He shrugged.
“How did you meet Jack and Erica?”
“Oh…Way not long ago actually. It was started last year on a winter day; I was off to do a special case with my workers but, we didn’t inspect it will be this hairy no pun intended; however it was a nightmare.”
“Nightmare?” She wonders and was curious about the subject “what happen?”
“A Dragon attack happen, my workers all got slaughter and some who cowardly leave without a notice. I was there when it happen and worse is my old age slowing me down. My legs were the problem, I can’t properly run or do crazy things like I used to do. Then when I thought all hope is lost then, they show up; Jack who managed to distract the dragon while enough time for me to hide, then Erica join in and finished off with the Dragon with her red gigantic blade with one blow to the chest. I was obvious speechless, however I didn’t hired them yet but I thank both of them. Until I see them again until a month later; the city which we are in-was attack by the Northstars and sadly all of my employees ALL DEAD!” He inhale from the stress that he gather “Then they show up again; which I didn’t inspect seeing the two ever again but I was dead wrong. Erica who was busy fighting of the army and while Jack who is taking care with the reaming soldiers who, managed to breach in through the walls. I saw the boy of how he did with the soldiers with his custom made twin revolvers, kill them cleanly to the heads, every headshot he fired was impressive and I have never seen this men achieve that skill; which of course I was jellies of him. So after math the king granted the two as the heroes of Avalos and which I was lucky enough to hire them and BOOM!” He clap his hand, gesturing as the big point in his carrier “profits and so Crimson Death beats out other bounty hunters business like in an instant…My god after that it becomes tiring! But there was one problem I notice, their names mostly. The dragoness which I find out from the bounty’s was Erica; she is the dragoness who murders and destroy lot of human settlements and even the blame for the massive fire many years ago at the northern mountains of Terraria.”
“Wait she did that? I didn’t know that!”
“Yes, however there’s more but-it’s doesn’t matter anyway, Jack on the other hand. He was a lone survivor from Red-Lakes and was save from the black dragoness herself who saved him when he was eight…I think?”
“Oh what happen to his home?” She was curious.
“Dragon attack, pretty much the whole city was torched into flames, he told me his mother was stumped by a tan dragon’s foot and the other one green, who ripped her sister apart brutally.”
The Lycanthrope felt pain for the poor human’s past, however to her it was to her the most tragic she ever heard “Poor human” she whisper.
Tony stopped mopping which until her notice he was only cleaning the same spot over and over again; Alice who didn’t noticed until she notice more mud near the door.
Next day came, Tony who just awoken up from his nap but suffer a bit from drinking few glass, resulting giving him an splitting headache. When he stop by and check on Alice, she wasn’t in her temporary even she took off with her belongings too but she did left a note with it
Dear Tony
Thanks for letting me stay but. I can’t stay here, which I’m afraid my master might have sent someone to come looking for me. I’m heading somewhere particular but I can’t reveal what it is, or else they will find me and interrupted my work. But there’s one favor I wish to ask of you? I want you to meet me at the abandon city called Stone-Break; but when we get there be prepared and also one more thing. Watch out from my kind, if you see any tan women or pure pale like mine, beware of their sharp claws.
