This is the collar (wax version) for the costume my fiance will be wearing for the Texas Renaissance Festival costume contest. I figure a Necromancer worked best with my bone dragon.
The actual description of the piece in the picture. This particular project grew out of the unholy union of my demonically descended muse and an unwitting teacher. My teacher made a comment about a full size version of the cast horse collar I did about a month ago and this is the result. I will have my revenge though, she gets to help me sprue it up for casting. I am going to cast each piece separately to prevent problems with bulk casting.
I will post pictures of the results as soon as its cast.

It happens to everyone. I was terrified the first few times I did hot glass work (I am also so much not a pyro that I can't get my wax working candle to stay lit some days). And the first few weeks of my first jewelry class, I was more than a bit weary of the torches we use there. I think part of it is the lighting mechanism...I HATE flint strikers. They never do what they are told.
I got to work with a micro-torch when I did a bench test/job interview...they are evil and if you breath on them wrong they go out. That makes them unpredictable and unpredictable is always scary.
