Of all the Universal Monsters particularly, Claude Rains' Jack Griffin is in some ways the scariest one. He's ostensibly driven insane by the invisibility formula, but how many people, if invisible, wouldn't want to get away with anything and everything they could?
No, the Invisible Man is no brooding, tragic figure. He cackles, he dances, he makes bad jokes while cavalierly derailing trains full of people. This guy's Evil with a capital E, but he remains somehow smooth AF the whole time.
