Ulimaroa Pokedex #11: Pudgie, Water-type Variant.
One of the most ubiquitous and common Pokémon found the Ulimaroa Region is the colorful and friendly Pudgie. Found in nearly every area of Ulimaroa, from the sun-baked inland desert to the tropical coastal areas, and even the frozen mountains bordering the southern ocean, the Pudgie has adapted to life in whatever niche it can find.
An unusual trait of these Flying-type Pokémon is that they naturally come in many typing combinations, being born with a color and elemental trait with seemingly little rhyme or reason. This example, a Flying/Water Type, is colloquially known as a "Splashie" by the locals.
Intelligent, inquisitive and very vocal, Pudgies appear in massive numbers wherever they go, though when a Trainer engages one it's not uncommon for the flock to move out of the way until the Pokémon battle is resolved. Once captured, Pudgies are often found to be some of the most loyal and affectionate common Pokémon available, making ideal first-time catches for would-be Trainers, and incredibly popular with visiting Trainers from around the world.
Thus far there's little known about their evolutionary potential, but there's an Aboriginal myth about a supposed "lost valley" where the origin of Pudgies can be traced, and a secret lake that may hold some secret to evolutionary development. There are reports of mysterious, large Parrot-like Pokémon with varied elemental powers deep inland in Ulimaroa, but they have thus far been unconfirmed.
Pudgie, the Tiny Parrot Pokémon. No. 011 in the Ulimaroa Regional Pokédex.
