After a bit of soul (and parts bin) searching, plus comments left on the previous pic, I decided to try scrounging up some plastic GW bases for the gnolls. The issue with cutting off the plastic bases they come with lies in their feet, which are REALLY small! Obviously, it can be done with patience and a sharp razor saw, but there's almost no material left for pinning, so I had to be careful with the gluing.
Anyway, I'm loving these multi-part gnolls! Several head options, lots of different arms to choose from! The only issue is there's no "command sprue," and I am apparently out of command bits from my other armies. This is going to make musicians a little tricky to make. Standards? Meh. I can mod other hands to hold brass rod-stock poles. Been there, done that. Maybe I'll see if I can shape "cow-horn battle horns" out of scrap stock? I'm open to ideas.
Anyway, this is half a unit of "Ungor" Raiders. Gnoll in the front with the face-mask and dagger drawn will be the unit commander. The gnoll in armor is from Hasslefree miniatures, and will serve as a command figure for the army.
