... Sola, meanwhile, was of light and knowledge, of law and civility, of hearth and home, and for most of history she had been seen as the patron Goddess of mankind. It isn’t surprising, however, that the vicious atrocities of the Great War saw a rise in those who sought Lura’s blessing rather than her sister’s. Both Goddesses offered hope, but if we had wanted wisdom or mercy in the midst of war, perhaps we should have prayed to Sola, instead.

Another commission for Vangarthia and partner piece to Domain of the Moon. Being a fan of all things scaled and feathered, and knowing my story featured gryphon deities, he asked me to paint one I generally picture Sola and Lura more as cosmic forces than beings with physical form, but tales tell of the Goddesses descending to Earth on occasion, and I imagine during those times they, like their Father, took the form of a gryphon - perhaps Sola looked something like this.
