Sketching mask ideas for my demon-tainted Solar exalted, the mask’s eyeholes not aligning with the user’s eyes creates an alien look that I really like.

I have two ideas for this
1/ The mask is alive so the eyeholes are actually the creature’s eyes, and it can transfer visual information directly to the host’s brain, effectively becoming the host eyes.
2/ The mask basically replace his face, those eyeholes are now his eyes now.
Though now reading your comment, I have a third one: He gives up control of his body for the mask, so he’s indeed blind and gagged by a living symbiote, which is much hotter I think.

I like both of those ideas, and yes, the third option is hot, though I feel bad for the host, not being able to see at all anymore.
If I could make a suggestion? For the first idea, what if, instead of telepathically transmitting visual data directly into his brain—or however it works—what if it physically digs into his eyes and creates a bond/bonds with them, like synapses, neurons, or something? It robs his eyes of their physical autonomy, but connects with the optic neurons through the eyes, thereby physically transmitting through the brain through the normal electrical impulses? (I had to look up how the eye works for this, ha.)
I'm wondering, does the mask exist on its own, or is there symbiotic plate armor that goes along with it? I think it'd be kind of hot if there were wrist-guards/bands, or something like that, on the arms, to help the mask control the host's body. But that's just an idea, feel free to disregard it.

Oooh my, I love this idea, so eerily alien with half his mask off and the onlooker can see the mask eyes moving perfectly in synch with the host eyes.....
>I'm wondering, does the mask exist on its own, or is there symbiotic plate armor that goes along with it?
My initial idea is that he defeats fairy/demon/god/...etc and forge them into symbiotic masks which he can change mid-battle, that way I can use all the designs that pop into my head instead of having to choose one.
But now I'm kinda want him to make his enemies into full plate armor instead like you say, living gimp armor like the one from Berserk is kinda sexy now that I think about it. Switching full plate armors in the middle of a fight gonna be hard though, and akward for the opponent who may be turn on by the sight

How does he switch masks though, if it bonds to him, and he gives up his body to it? Or them, rather, for multiple masks.
(Whether he gives his body up willingly, or through force or coercion, is another matter entirely though, I suppose? )
I'd imagine additional armor would be more for the purpose of helping the mask control its host, thereby retaining dominance, if that's the narrative goal. If he's able to switch out masks mid-battle, by his own volition, then additional armor doesn't make much sense I think.
Well, something to think about, but of course you're the creator and can do what you want

Perhaps each armor/mask has different skill set, one can control shadow while another will let the user transform into a fire elemental, which justify the switching tactic since different opponents will require different approaches.

Yeah, I still haven’t find a way to make all these ideas fit together orz
Maybe he need to give up both his mind and body to the mask fully if he wants to access their full power, but since he’s still their master plus lover, they will relinquish their control over the host once the battle is over, though sometime the symbiote may decide that it wants to have some sexy fun time with their master and let him regain his sense, but not his body while a bunch of symbiotes do their dirty work

Oh ho ho, we're getting naughty here, huh?
Well, what if you had multiple characters donning the masks? Or maybe different versions of the character? I think all these ideas have merit and deserve their own place somewhere, so it'd be a shame to sacrifice some of them. The idea of the masks augmenting the wearer and ultimately subservient even with a mind of their own is a good idea, but I really like the idea of them possessing and taking over the wearer completely as well.
Maybe they themselves want to fight and just need a body, not a person per se, so once you're in their grips, you're theirs. A separate will contrary to their own is useless to them (in that scenario), so they just subdue it, and maybe even subsume it completely over time.
At any rate, I recommend taking the time to mull it over, though I'm sure you were planning on doing that anyway. Fleshing out ideas takes time, and I've learned that simply being patient with oneself is important and vastly helpful.

Thanks for the advice sea2sea, there are just so many good ideas in this comment chain that I do need to organize them into a coherent plot ~
