That night at moonrise, out in the swamp.
Dee, having stared at the rising moon and concentrated hard, had turned back into a boy.
That really didn't surprise him, as the voodoo lady had said it was a very good possibility. What DID
surprise him was seeing Kat suddenly changed into a frighteningly huge werewolf right in front of him and
seeing her eyes glow like green fires in the dark. Intellectually, he knew Kat was half werewolf, but knowing
it and seeing her unexpectedly change right right in front of him were two different things. Besides, she was
snarling and sounded angry. Her right arm was raised to her chest as though ready to backpaw someone.
She took a step directly towards him. Self defense kicked in and he began to raise his arms, wondering if he was
going to have to protect himself from her, when he realized that she wasn't even seeing him. Kat raised her muzzle to the air and sniffed a couple of times, then growled deep in her throat as she looked over Dee's head to her sister behind him.
Kat: Rrrrrrrrr! Molly! You smell so delicious! Why hadn't I ever noticed that before?
She took another step, nearly knocking into Dee, who prepared himself to leap on her in hopes of side-tracking her from what appeared to him to be an imminent attack on Molly. But Molly was neither answering nor moving. Her rabbit side had come to the fore, and her eyes, already big, grew as wide as saucers. Molly had gone tharn. Totally paralyzed by the gaze and words of what just moments ago had been her cute little sister.
Suddenly, there was a huge THUMP! as Madame Boudreaux slammed her large tail against the ground.
Madame B.: All right now kiddies. Let's all stay calm here.
And the gator lady inserted herself between Kat and Dee with her staff raised. Waves of peacefulness so strong they were nearly visible flowed in all directions from the staff as Madame B. Chuckled to herself.
Madame B.: Nearly had us a little donnybrook here, I'm thinking, but it's all fine now. Isn't it children?
Kat and Dee both immediately relaxed and nodded, though it took Molly several minutes more to fully recover from her tharn state.
Madame B.: And now you all see how right the bones were. Just as I said. Molly, your meddling has tied these two together inseparably. When one changes, so does the other. Pity that Dee's change back to a boy brought on Miss Kat's were change. But then you never know how these things will work, and it could be worse. Could be better too though, I'll have to admit. But don't give up hope that you can eventually get back to young man and young lady one of these times. There's a lot more magic in this world than any of us can ever know.
And with that, Madame Boudreaux, the voodoo gator lady, turned about, stumped back to her cabin and slammed the door, leaving three mystified and confused......but not hopeless kids alone in the swamp.
Dee: Now what do we do, Kat? Molly?
The two sisters, one normal bunny-wolf and one huge werewolf, shrug and make non-commital noises.
Dee: I guess we keep on looking for answers. And the first one is how to get Kat back small enough to fit in the car.
Anyone got an idea?

Oh my. I guess Auntie Megan's gonna have to check the phases of the moon before she comes over to your house again! Much as I like the odd playful nibble, I think what Kat had in mind, just for a moment, is a bit too far!
Poor Dee, though. And poor Molly! Sisterly squabbles are one thing, but thinking you might end up on your siblings menu has to be incredibly disturbing. Even with all the magic at her command, it's no wonder why she went into shock there for a bit. Good thing Madame B was around to set thing straight.
As for what the consequences might be of Dee and Kat's shifting being linked together, well, I think it's best not to speculate. I'll just leave that for them to work out on their own. But I do wonder, now, if Dee might consider that being a girl for at least part of the time isn't so bad after all.
(And, darn it, now you have that song stuck in my head! Again!)

Werewolves will be werewolves, ya know? And wolves think rabbit makes for some fine eating. Thing is, Kat is half rabbit and Molly is half wolf. So the whole thing is pretty mixed up. I'd like to think Kat wouldn't have actually tried to eat Molly. I guess we'll never know though. I don't think she'll be like that again. It was most likely just the heat of having turned for the first time. And so unexpectedly at that.
Right now we don't even know if Dee will or can turn back into a girl. It's pretty likely that Kat can change back to normal once away from the moon's influence though, and maybe that will trigger Dee to change back. It's just a wait and see type thing. I'm betting they'll both change at the same time again, personally. Like you said, being a girl isn't a bad thing for Dee and she likes it, so I think that could work well. You know Kat will stick to Dee no matter what. After all Kat is my daughter and was raised in a lesbian environment.......
What song is that?

Yeah, I did think about that. Like, wait, Kat is half rabbit, too, and Molly is half wolf, so you'd think there'd be more of a mixed signal. But I suppose the feeling of transforming into her full werewolf form would be pretty powerful, too. It's good to know she'll most likely have it under better control in the future, though. I'd hate to think someone would have to stand around with a rolled up newspaper every time there's a full moon, or something.
I suppose it is a wait and see situation. But the voodoo lady's words about them being linked together suggests that, whether or not Dee turns back into a girl, he, or she, will still be quite strongly tied to Kat's changes in some capacity. And I do know that they'll stick together no matter what. That's a big part of what makes this story so sweet and charming.
The song in question is CCR's Bad Moon Rising. Which I thought you were making a direct reference to in the title. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KitJC1WXDns

Just so! I'd say all your thoughts on these subjects are valid.
Of COURSE I was referencing CCR...again. I did in the last picture too, only added one word to the title making it IN Bayou Country, after the album. I may do it again too. I thought you had some less obvious song stuck up there.
BTW......how about their song Walk on Water? Now THAT one is super creepy!! I loves it!!

Well, I thought surely you must be! And no, I'm not normally that oblique. Not on purpose anyway. If I'd had another song in my head, I'd have mentioned it by name.
That's an excellent song, too! It doesn't fit this picture quite so well, but it could almost work. Especially with the rather toothy grin on Madame B's face there. She might be helpful and at least civil, if not friendly, but man, she can look even spookier than Kat in full werewolf form!

Ah, okay.
That's been one of my favorite songs ever since the first time I heard it. CCR did several creepy type songs when you think on it. Sinister Purpose, Tombstone Shadow, Porterville and Gloomy to name my favorites along with Walk on Water and Bad Moon Rising. ;3 Fogerty definitely has a dark side to him.
Madame B. is darn spooky. I think aside from being a gator, living alone in Cajun country, way back in the swamps it's pretty much a given that one would seem.......shall we say odd?
Spookier than full were Kat huh? Salty did good when she made her!

Your wish shall be granted, though you'll have to wait a little while. We have yet to begin the next one, but it won't be too long.
I rather like her this way also. I wonder what Dee's reaction will be if the only way he can be a guy is while Kat is in were mode. Can't you just picture them walking down the sidewalk somewhere, paw in paw, and the looks they'd get from people around them? :LMAO:

I might just have to do something with that idea, now it comes to mind.
One thing for sure. Anyone walking down the street holding kat's paw while she's like this is completely safe from any evil doers! Only a drunken fool would even THINK of messing with her or her companion in any way.

No promises, but I do really like the idea and how it could play out. I just put it on my list of pictures to do, so the chances are good.
No. She slipped a little bit that first time and got sort of wild, but it was just a reaction from her first change and how unexpected it was. I think from now on it will only affect her physically, not mentally. Or at least not enough to make her dangerous to the people she likes and loves. Total control is a bit much to ask for, don't you think? Even I get carried away to a certain extent sometimes and I have many, many years more experience than she at controlling myself.

Uh, girls, you know I love you so don't take this the wrong way, but what in the name of fluffy bunnies are you doing taking a werewolf out under a full moon and not taking something to distract her with? Or at least making sure to keep a little distance between you and her? Fortunately, nobody got hurt and I have a feeling Kat would have snapped out of it even without Madame B's help, but that's a pretty big risk to take, sister or no.
But on the bright side, I guess, Dee is back to his old self and now they know what happens when they let Kat out into the moonlight like that. And maybe next time she'll find it easier to control herself and not want to make her sister into a snack. And maybe the girls will remember to bring some cookies or something to help sate Kat's urge to hunt something. They could have fun playing "frisbee" with her or something.
Is it wrong that I want to give Kat a hug and tell her what a fluffy wuff she is? Maybe after she's got some fresh clothing on. Though I'm impressed at how well her old outfit held up under the transformation!

Hindsight is 20-20, as the saying goes. Kat had never transformed before and didn't expect to until she'd gotten a bit older. I'm quite sure she wouldn't have eaten Molly no matter how good she smelled. Maybe a lick or two just for a taste, but she could never eat her sister. She loves her too much even in full werewolf mode!
Yes, a lot was learned by this excursion under the full moon. But there's still a lot more they need to know too before Dee and Kat get these changes under control....assuming they ever do.
Cookies? A frisbee? How about animal crackers made of beef jerky? Those sound more like the ticket to me.
Of course it's not wrong to want to hug the big, fluffy woof! I bet she'd even like it if you were both nakey. I doubt she'd take much notice of the state of your and her dress or undress, but just be happy to hug and nuzzle a wonderful friend like you.
That was kind of lucky how her clothes didn't totally shred, but a girl has to have some luck, doesn't she?

Just one thing.......
In the second line he sang ' hope you are quite prepared to die' according to a search I just made. But I just listened to it and I really could not tell for sure which way it is sung on the album..
