In a total departure from my normal uploads, here's this. So, some of you know (and most of you don't) in true draconic fashion, I hoard... uhhm I mean... 'collect' things. In this case, old military service rifles. I've got stuff other than these that's a bit more modern, but they don't have nearly as much character as these old hands. They've got the dents and dings of being carried for a long while and some even have markings left by the men who carried them. There's a lot of history here, and it's nice to be able to preserve this stuff. I know firearms are a bit of a hot button issue, but I think we can all agree that history is pretty cool and deserves to be preserved. All guns are all numbers matching.

The FN49 doesn't get nearly enough appreciation. I've got a rearsenaled 8mm model with a really pretty beech stock, though next to no actual historic value sadly. I think my ugliest one ever was a 1938 Izhevsk 91-30 a wartime model where they cut every corner humanly possible to reduce machining time. It was a practical and functional rifle in every way the standard M91-30 was, but you could really see the desperation. Not quite Volkssturmgewehr levels of jankiness, but close.
Hm, and I thought I might be the only one that collected weapons...
Thing is though I couldn't take a picture and upload it of what we have without causing someone to trigger ( see what I did thar? ).
It's all 100% legal, it's just not many people know that you can legit own some pretty silly things in some states.

That's a really cool collection, Jarren! Congrats :D
I wouldn't say I collect anything material in nature. I try to collect wisdom, experiences, and friendships (though calling a friendship part of a collection sounds cold, so maybe that's not the right word, but you get what I'm trying to say. I treasure my friends :3)
Edit: Oh yeah, I guess I collect art too XP

My oldest brother collects guns, I'm sure the two of you would have a hay-day talking about the "finds." :)
I couldn't agree with you more, Jarren. History is a great tool, it allows us to see what has come before, from others mistakes and fortunes, so that we may move forward. It seems that a lot of people forget that those others were men, women, and children just like us and without them we would know and have nothing! Though, nothing will last forever, that is true, however should we not at least try and make their memories last as long as possible? (I'll stop now ^_^;)
I would tell you what I collect, but it may be easier just to say, "too much." >.<
