I was sleeping the night away in the cloudy brisk night. The wind was eerily quiet, as the crickets remain to chirp and play their song, despite the date being October 3rd. The forest was a perfect fit for me, as I toss and turn watching not to wake my fellow pokemon while doing so. I am quite large for a Houndour, as compared to the small trees beside me that are around 20 feet tall...which i tower over by a little, i’d say i’m about 45 feet in height. I don’t really know why I’m such a big pokemon, maybe I ate a lot...but instead of towards my body fat, it went towards my...well...height.
But before I go back to bed, I’ll tell the person reading this my name, The name’s Trashbag and I am still a puppy, so I have a lot of growing to do...But for now I’m content with this height. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to touch the sky literally. Bedtime is calling my name...So I should fall ba-ck t-... I couldn’t even finish the sentence, I fall back to sleep.
Suddenly I wake up...as the sun was shining, and it was already quite warm for this fall day. Usually I start the day off with a scent of other pokemon doing pokemon things..But I smell something different today. Something that my nose never picked up before, do I dare look below? I look below and it looked to be...not a pokemon, it was wearing clothes and had...hands. He had a stick in his hands, suggesting that he was poking me with it, oh wait...he dropped it...and by the look on his face, he’s very intimidated. “...Uh Hi…” I say out loud, and that seemed like the icing on the cake for the human, he ran like the wind. Why is he running? Is it my breathe? Am I ugly? Don’t be like that Trash...maybe he’s just being playful and is playing chase with me. “I can run faster than a cheetric! You are no match for me.” I announced running towards the boy. I was quite fast, so fast in fact that the boy gave up very quickly and it seems I got him leaning against an oak tree, behind the oak tree and beside it was a large wall of bedrock.
The boy was young, probably close to puberty, but not exactly. He was darker skinned, and his hair was dark also and he was wearing a shirt with a weird video game logo on it and yeezys, he looked like he hasn’t taken a shower in a couple of days. He put his head down and curled into a ball. “Aaaaah! Don’t eat me!” Pleaded the boy. I was quite confused, tilting my head, he actually thinks I’m a monster? “...Hey...I’m not going to hurt you…” I said, slowly, my front paws inches away from the boy.
Then I had an idea, despite me being confused, that may or may not deliver. He stood back a bit, trying not to make any noise, but he was on grass, so that part of the plan was executed quite mediocre. I then sat down, even sitting down, I still towered over a few smaller trees in height. There were perks of being a gigantic pokemon, but also there were some problems; Including this situation right now.
I think for a moment, thinking about what other reasons why this boy is crying other than the fact that he thinks he’s on the menu. Let’s see… “Uh-hi…?” No...No… Hmm, what else did I say? “I can run faster th-”...Nope, that’s pretty inoffensive. I remember nothing else, so the soul reason this human is scared of me is just because of my size. Just like most other pokemon, only I thought they were scared of me because I communicated differently than them. With a big body comes big wits...and a thick enough tongue to speak, making me superior to these small pokemon some smaller than one of my toes. I thought I had a rare gift, but with that gift comes some obstacles, I was facing one now.
I could only sit and wait, maybe if I act unthreatening he would finally see another side of me. I wait, and wait, and wait. I see the sun changed positions in the sky, as I last saw it, it seems I’ve been waiting for over 2 hours. I look back at the kid, and it seems he...fell asleep. It would be smart not to wake him. It takes another 15 minutes for him to finally open his eyes, and this first thing he saw was the last thing he saw. A giant houndour, he wanted to run, but remembered that he was backed in a corner.
“What do you want from me!” Cried the boy, going full of circle of what happened 2 hours and 15 minutes ago. “I want to be friends with you is all.” I said. “But you’re going to eat me! You’re a monster, who’s just going to use me!” retaliated the boy. “Well, If I was so hungry right now, I would’ve ate you in your sleep, yet you are currently alive and breathing.” I replied respectfully. “Your methods are meant to throw me off! I’ll never be your friend!” Said the boy.
Well if you didn’t want to be my friend why did you poke me in the first place...but now wasn’t the time for nitpicking.
Soon, I would just leave, this boy was quite stubborn...but then I saw his dirty shirt, his dirt covered shoes and his greasy hair. He seems to be lost. “Hey? Are you lost? If you want i will drop you off back home.” I ask. “I’ll nev-...” He stops and thinks for a moment, he was very homesick, and it seems that the thought of coming home...even if the glimmer of possibility comes from a Clifford sized pokemon...was quite sentimental.
“...I live in Korzina...Do you know where that is?” Asked the boy, he decided to roll the dice, even if this was an elaborate plan for me to eat him, he would risk it for the sake of sleeping in his own warm bed, he was that desperate. “Korzina, yes...the city not far away.” I say, though I never visited it, I always thought that place had really tall, metallic looking trees that light up at night. I decided to stay away from it, I only know the city name because of one of the buildings having “KORZINA” in big letters.
“Yeah, I’ll take you home pal.” I said, lowering my body so he could climb my hill of a back. I allowed the boy to take a couple minutes to hesitate but he eventually got on. But before he did, he patted my far. My fur had a reputation of being fluffy, sorta like furry memory foam. The boy got really into it, petting it as he took the long trip up.
He was now fully on my back, laying down on probably the most comfortable thing he ever felt in his entire life. He took off his dirty shoes and socks, I didn’t mind carrying dirty laundry, though I wish he brought a hamper, but Arceus only knows you can’t find hampers in the wild.
I stand up and begin my trek into the big metallic forest that they call...a city, an urban jungle. I can’t wait to walk into this place, currently I’m already experiencing new smells and sights, as now houses start to appear...though still heavily forested.
I went on as now i was dodging the automobiles that was challenging his paws that were littered on the streets, like a boy who forgets to clean up his toys after playing with them. Some people were out, and to see my large and dominant presence made them shriek a little inside, and this could probably be the start of the chaos. I accidentally step on a car, making the car alarm go off. “What even are these things?” I muttered softly, taking a gander at my accident prone paws seeing metal and debris on my soft paw pads. Soon the “metallic trees” as I call it, was closer and it seems to be bigger than I ever imagined.
Soon my presence was more well-known, as new outlets are gathering reports of shaking and even receiving the ridiculous claim that a 45 foot tall canine like creature is currently taking a stroll, and as you may imagine maybe news outlets and citizens found that too supernatural to believe. Most were terrified, some want to even kill this large pokemon or destroy him before he reeks havoc.
I get closer to the city, my curiosity getting to me. I then saw a local wal-mart and looked at the text presented to me. “Save money, live better…” I said, reading the little slogan below “Wal-Mart” on the building; not knowing what “saving money” was. The farther I trekked the larger the buildings got, now most buildings that I faced were in fact taller than myself...and it was way harder to not step on things as now I had to worry about people walking, breaking traffic lights, and knocking over trash cans.
I then heard something as my head glanced to the source...it was a helicopter...I also heard this weird “woop woop” sound. I glanced again quickly to see a parade of cars follow him, at that moment I knew I didn’t have much time left to bring the boy home and to be honest I frankly forgot all about him because he wasn’t talking the whole time.
“Hey! Hey!” I said, shaking his body...he was given no answer because out of all the commotion going on outside, he wasn’t awake. “How are you asleep! Wait...how are you maintaining your balance on me…” I said, maybe the boy was secretly spiderman or something.
“I don’t have time for this…” I said in an annoyed tone, my long stride walking turned into a long stride running as I turned and bolted back to the suburban area, as my paws trampled some more cars, and even a traffic light...and even left a trail of paw shaped marks on the asphalt, luckily only an inch deep. I was probably going as fast as a racecar in NASCAR, probably running he was going 100 to even 200 miles per hour (162-365 kph), Wait a second, what’s a racecar? In a matter of minutes, I was back at the suburb losing the popo for now.
“Hey buddy...buddy!” I whispered to the boy, after he slept through all of that I figured he had to try harder...but sure enough the boy awoken. “We’re here?” Asked the boy. I then immediately said “Wait...how did you w-...” The boy interrupted “ This isn’t my house, my house is on the other side o-...” “I guess you have to walk there buddy, I have these flashy moving...things to deal with.” I interrupted. “Are you kidding me, I can’t walk 10 miles (16 km) all by myself! Maybe for you 10 miles is nothing, but for me...it would take me like hours.” Said the boy, in actuality it was really 4 (6km), but his sense of distance wasn’t mastered yet due to his premature age. “Fine I hear ya…” I said, more slowly now. “Hang on.” I then started to run towards the east. “Go this way!” Said the boy, pointing. “I can’t see you from up t-...” “You’re going right, go left.” Said the boy, luckily I knew my left and rights, as I bolted towards that direction.
I kept running not really knowing, where I was going...I was just going “that way” kind of what the boy has told me. Despite me losing the police for now, I remain running just as a precaution. After a couple minutes of running I heard the boy say “Stop! Stop! Stop!” I then did what he told me to do.
I then laid down on the asphalt, as the boy was pretty comfortable on my back as he pretty hesitant to get off, but after a minute or two he took his laundry and himself and walked down the fur covered hill. But before going into his own house, he then realized that he didn’t properly thank the giant houndour for saving his precious life. He turned around and looked at the giant puppy currently filling the street, the smiling gentleness of my smile I really captured him, our eyes locked.
“Thank you dearly for saving my life, If you didn’t save me I think the worst could have happened...What is your name.” Said the boy. “Trashbag, what’s yours?” I ask. “My name is Francis.” He said with a smile. “I promise I’ll visit y-.” Before Trashbag was able to finish his final sentence, a giant net has covered his body.
“Ha now we finally got you!” Said one of the officers that were suddenly in front of me. There were only a few luckily, so they weren’t bringing this arrest as some huge televised thing. I then move a bit, as the fabric of the net seems not to be stable. “Wait a minute…” I say, shaking the net off my body as easy as breaking a piece of paper in half, as the giant net went on some guy’s house.
This might not be relevant to the story that i’m telling...but it started to rain, it was light and it was wet...and...why am i putting so much detail into describing the rain? Back to the story. It seems while going on that short tangent, the officers seemed to have drove off. I then see that Francis was inside of his house...and now once again I was alone, and to put an add on to the effect, the city seemed a bit quieter than usual.
I made my slow trek to an underpass near a bridge, since the rain I was describing earlier turned into a heavy wind driven rain. My fur was starting to get absolutely soaked, I go under the bridge hearing the parade of cars zooming by above me. But I then take a trip inside my mind for a moment, a world where nothing is limited, anything can do anything and the limits are only the beginning. I was alone again, just me myself and I, but I did enjoy my adventure for today.
Meeting a boy, and gaining probably my first real friend i’ve ever had; and if it wasn’t for me...the boy would be lost, hungry and possibly dead. I then realize that I might be without somebody currently, but I saved a life which i value dearly. I then close my eyes, tired from probably all that running I did today. I try and focus as the downpouring rain and the cars zooming by, as white noise. Before I knew it I drift back asleep………
*CREAK*
My ears perk up suddenly, I then heard screams as the rain continued to pour down like wet gunshots pointing down. I then see the bridge, it was on the verge of collapsing, I ran towards the damaged area, as soon the ground under me became water, because the bridge was under some sort of river. But right before I got to my desired destination, the bridge breaks way, as cars then drop into the river like the rain that was falling down outside. I then race to the cars that would eventually make their body and softly dragged them onto a nearby rock, with the soft push of my toes...so the humans would have some sort of chance to survive. I then prop my back up, pushing on the side of the rock...so i could kind of use my back as a bridge, to possibly keep the traffic on the bridge.
I check on the cars of the water filled rocks. I was quick enough for a good chunk of the people to unlock their doors to the water filled cars and get out...with either minor injuries or just really wet clothes. But some weren’t so lucky, some doors were jammed, and since the cars were filled from top to bottom with water, precious time was running low. I yet had another idea, as people watch from above the bridge, recognizing my current heroics, I felt people actually going on my back and petting me. I lower my head to the waterlogged cars, and with my sharp teeth I pick at the doors, each door forcefully busted open. Releasing the water, some escape with wet clothes and heavy breathing, some escape with that but minor injuries, and some were unconscious for being without oxygen for so long. Luckily the police were on their way.
The non-injured people who were saved climbed on me, petting my toes and legs and being very remorseful. I was around an overwhelming shot of happy emotion, as the police were stunned at who saved all those people. Without me, the death toll would’ve been counted in dozens, but instead it was pretty much zero.
I look around the scene around me, the clouds in the sky are breaking up, the sun peaking through, people climb over me, using my back as a bridge. People of all walks of life were petting and praising me...
I had a feeling that I wasn’t going to live a lonely life anymore...
