Up on the second level of the Chalk Festival I sighted this rather well done peacock which was still in progress. I'd like to see how this image looks when the background is finished.

Yeah! Remember that sugar sculptor who was popular in Little Tokyo in the late 1990s? I think he retired after the A-Kon after sculpting little figures of Godzilla and the other popular Kiju. I've seen pictures of German Confectioners building intricate, scale models in Marzipan. I mean... One just couldn't leave something like that on a shelf. It'd get dusty and probably spoil. So I imagine a model building enthusiast like me might shed a little tear while chomping on the bits that were once a 1/6 scale Porsche 911 Rally style.
Interesting you should mention that. Every artist who entered the festival had to also submit a 12 X 12* stretch canvas image which would go to auction, and the best would go to the Pasadena Museum of Contemporary Art. Of course the Event also had a crew of photographers and videographers carefully making record of each image.
