Cleaner entry near the front of the Diary of Cid

I met someone today.
Well, ok, that someone was unconcious....maybe I should start over.
I met someone uncon---
I found someone today in those old ruins.
I don't know why I keep going back to the place. It's so out of the way from home, but every now and then I pack up and head out to check it every once and awhile. It's become so routine I guess I've ignored it. Maybe I'm questioning it a little now since something new happened.
Usually those Goombas guard the place in case of looters, though I'm not really interested in the stuff down there, but they're kind of...lazy. I mean really, this time it seemed they dumped the entire watch on one guy. And he was DANCING when I got there? Weird right? Well no, I shouldn't say that. I'm the weird one from coming to this place for no good reason. Strange that the door was unlocked though.
I knew my way pretty well, and aside from some weird grooves in the floor, I remembered I was coming up to the room with that throne again. Guess the place must've been a palace or something before it sunk down there. Usually, if I recall, I just take a break here and just....I dunno...think I guess. Reflecting maybe, though I don't usually remember what it was.
This time though, there were Koopas down here. Two were picking on this other one, that looked smaller and a little different than they did. I admit, I usually step into things where I'm not needed or wanted, character trait I guess, and they were KOOPAS for crying out loud...but that little guy looked pretty helpless. Sooooo...I nailed the two with some eggs, grabbed him and got out of there before the other two woke up.
When I go out, I didn't know quite what to do. There was a Koopa village nearby, maybe that's where he came from. But that Goomba guard had caused a bit of an uproar, and other officials were coming...guess I felt like unwanted (and soon-to-be-detained) company. So...i ended up taking him home.

He finally woke up after a few days. A few DAYS. I don't know what happened to him, but must have been rough. The little guy felt so weak, had to even put him in diapers as a precaution. Maybe he was young enough to need them, I don't know, but it sure spared sheets that was for sure!
Kidding aside, after a...one sided conversation, I convinced him to stay. I don't know. He could get up and move now, or waddle as the case may be, but I wasn't sure he was all together yet. Why was I so concerned? I don't know. Maybe it's in my nature, something I can't quite put my stubby finger on. Maybe I was lonely after all these years. Maybe I thought it was my responsibility. Or maybe i just downright cared. About a Koopa? I know right. A Yoshi caring about a Koopa. What a world. Then again, I was always considered an oddball.

Going into town with supplies, that little guy sure goes through that padding fast sometimes, he actually asked to come with me. With a little precaution, I finally caved in. There was a small complication with another kid and a few of the locales, but I managed to smooth things over. When we finally got back, It had to be explained what I did for him. I don't think....anybody's done it for him before. Defended him that is. I really...don't know much about him. I don't know how much good I do for him...but maybe it's more than I thought.
I'll try my best. Maybe this whole Yoshi and Koopa thing can be hung up if someone gave them a chance. Ok, I'm not looking to fix something that's been in for generations, it may not even be possible...but at the very least, maybe I can make things a touch lighter for him. Don't know where he came from or how we ended up together...but I'll try to do my best for him.

I put that strange wand away in a box. He always carried it with him, all those months, and he had it when I found him too. Never let go of the thing. Maybe it's a memento or something. When I asked him about it, he just said he found it...if I ever inquired more, he just said it was his now. That's...ok I suppose, whomever owned it is probably far gone now.
Weird little thing...i swear there's...something...about it. I've heard of Magic Koopas before, Was this one of those wands? I've never seen him use magic, and I've tried the thing myself, and it doesn't seem to do anything. Maybe it is really just some old relic that would sell for a lot. Not that I would even consider that, it was important to him, and is kinda...a memento from when we met.
So I'll keep it in a box for now....but I get this...creepy feeling from it. Every now and again I look at the box out of the corner of my eye and swear...I've seen that wand before...
Oh well, probably just my addled mind playing tricks on me. I see somebody with a rather saggy diaper trying to get at the treats jar again, better handle that before the jar tips ov---
