These yao-stalkers are getting more and more fascinating. I actually wish they were in Fallout (even though I don't want to fight them. They are such beautiful creatures.)

It'd be easy to use these in an actual D&D campaign as long as your players don't roll their eyes at the reference or have a problem with being swallowed whole. 83

I actually thought about a character inspired by this creature: a mercenary that encountered a yao-stalker and escaped with the slash marks and chemical scarring to show it. Now he never leaves his power armor in order to hide his appearance and out of fear that the yao-stalker that almost killed him is still out there, waiting for the opportunity to attack him while he vulnerable. The idea is that both him and the yao-stalkers are something of a wasteland legend.

Oddly enough I almost wrote a story once about a lizard man living deep in a swamp because he suspects the aurumvorax (a super-dense, badger like alien predator) that would have eaten him had he not cut off his arm to escape is waiting outside the swamp, unable to come in after him due to the water and soft soil but still hungry for his flesh.

Great minds do think alike it seems.
