Well, a censer is a utensil used for incense. Censer was invented in Han dynasty (about 2200 years ago). Ancient people believe that incense can scent their clothes and dispel the pest insects (such as mosquitoes). Traditional Chinese medical science believes that incense can also relieve fatigue like aromatherapy.

Nope, Han censers were usually made in copper. But censers were firstly appeared in Han dynasty
