Cheaters Never Prosper (Sometimes)

The night had been a pleasant one for a young girl named Ooshen, a primitive young human who enjoyed the simpler things in life. She stood at an average height for her kind with flowing pink hair atop her head. Her body covered in a simple outfit hewn from leaves and furs caught and traded with another village. Her dreams had been full of sweetness and love for the creatures she surrounded herself with for Ooshen cared more for animals than her own kind. She loved to take care of them and even nurture them if need be but above all she enjoyed speaking to them, learning about them and what they could do. Ooshen has some slight magical power, the foremost being she can speak with animals, other humans have not this gift and she fears they might treat her poorly if they knew so she keeps it a secret. The sun coming up from the night sky and gracing her simple hut with light letting her know it was time to rise and prepare for the day, not knowing it would be an interesting one.

Ooshen stepped out to great the morning with a soft stretch of her back and a little yawn passing her lips when she heard a sound coming from behind her, she looked and saw the trees rustling in a pattern that suggested movement. The leaves dropping to the ground as she turned to see what was coming as giggling was soon heard which told her who was coming to visit her; “Tanka and Tovo.” She said to herself as two monkeys soon popped out of the trees and landed in front of her, each of them on equal height with the other with one having fur of red while the other was yellow. Tanka and Tovo being brothers and always traveling together to have fun and cause mischief, never anything harmful just innocent jokes or pranks to animal and human alike, with Ooshen being one of their favorite humans. “Hello Ooshen! Good...” Tovo said as his brother finished his sentence; “Morning! Beautiful isn’t it? What are..” He said as Tovo spoke next; “You doing this morning?” Both of them having a habit of finishing the others sentences but this was charming to Ooshen who explained she just woke up but had no real plans today other than enjoying herself.

Tovo jumping up and down as Tanka did the same; “Ooshen! Will you...” Tovo speaking; “Play a game with us?!” They asked as they were hopping about her legs making her smile as she loved to play games herself and since she didn’t have any plans anyway; “Sure, what is game?” She asked making the two monkeys smile gleefully as they explain they want to play some cards with her, Ooshen smiling as she has a deck of simple cards in her hut that she used on rainy days when she was stuck inside. “We play for fun?” She asked making them smile at one another; “Play for something else...” Tanka said as Tovo finished; “Winner gets to tell Loser what to do. Loser...” Tanak finishing again; “Must do whatever Winner says.” Ooshen hadn’t heard of this rule but she figured it wasn’t something to worry about and agreed to the terms as she went and got the cards. They gathered under the tree near her home and she handed them the deck, letting them mix them all together and deal out a hand to each player. Tova and Tanka acting as a team as they always did as the first hand was played by each of them.

Tovo and Tanka showing their cards and Ooshen doing the same, Ooshen smiling as they each hung their heads as they lost the first hand; “Ooshen won! Tovo and Tanka must do what Ooshen say!” She said gleefully as they nodded and asked what she wished, Ooshen saying she was hungry for fresh fruit and sending them to get it, Tovo and Tanka doing so with a hidden smile as they left. This wasn’t a regular visit for them as they had a plan for Ooshen, letting her win the first hand and then the next to do whatever she asked, knowing it wouldn’t be any problem for them. This would allow them to build her confidence so they could make sure they won the third hand and get the upper hand on her. The two found her fruit and brought it back to her in a hurry saying they wanted another game to try and make up for the last, Ooshen smiling as she agreed and the cards were dealt in the same way, again she won and sent the monkeys on a task, this time for two buckets of fresh water. The Monkeys fetching her and asking for one last game; “But this time...” Tovo said as Tanka finished; “Loser does whatever Winner wants for rest of day.”

Ooshen thought about that for a moment, she had already won twice and getting them to do whatever she thought of did sound nice; “Ooshen agrees.” She said as the monkeys mixed the cards as before, but made sure certain ones slipped out and into their hands without Ooshen noticing. The card mix was exactly the same to her eyes, not having any idea that she was about to be swindled, the cards were dealt and the monkeys kept themselves from giggling as they held superior hands as Ooshen smiled and laid hers down thinking she had won once more. The monkeys laying down their own hands and smiling ear to ear and bouncing up and down as Ooshen’s mouth hung open in shock at loosing with such high stakes but she knew a deal was a deal and so she accepted whatever fate awaited her; “What Tovo and Tanka wish of Ooshen?” She asked as the monkeys darted up her tree and gathered a healthy helping of vines; “We want to tie Ooshen to tree, legs up in air and tickle her feet till sundown.” Ooshen wasn’t sure what to make of this, it was such an odd request but she had lost the game and so she nodded and sat next to the tree; “Ooshen do.”

The monkeys were at her quickly, tying her wrists together and around the whole of the tree as they looped her ankles together next, placing a loop around her big toes before throwing the vine over a low hanging branch. Tanka going and raising her legs up before tightening the line as Tovo admired Ooshen’s feet; “Ooshen have pretty feet...” He said making Tanka finish his sentence; “We make them feel good rest of day.” He said as the two darted into Ooshens hut and pulled two feathers from her pillow and rushed back outside, throwing their tails onto the tree branch and hanging from it. The branch swaying just a little from their weight but not breaking as Ooshen prepared for the feathers touch, Tanka and Tovo slipping the soft feathers up her feet at the same time which made her squirm. Ooshen giggled softly as the two kept moving the feathers up and down, each of them loving the fact they had pulled off their little scheme.

It wasn’t so much about getting to tickle Ooshen, what Tovo and Tanka loved most was seeing their pranks work. Each of them giddy with glee as they bounced up and down with their tails, moving their feathers all over Ooshens feet as she started to laugh out loud from the feeling. “Monkeys make Ooshen laugh too much!!!” Tovo and Tanka smiling but speaking; “We give...” “Ooshen a break when she...” “Needs it...” They promised as they moved the feathers from bottom to tops of her feet and in between her toes one by one. Ooshen gasping for breath as she was laughing nonstop, each movement of the feathers was driving her crazy, she wanted to swat them away just so she could get a reprieve but she had lost the bet and would have to endure this. The monkeys watching her toes cringe and try to get away from their feathers, it was almost a game in of itself really, one they might have to play again in the future.

The day passed with Ooshen having to stop several times, usually about once an hour so she could eat, rest, recover her breath and use the bathroom. She had no idea tickling for so long would make her body want to empty her fluids! The day passing in the blink of an eye for all of them and leaving Ooshen a sweaty mess from all the laughter, Tovo and Tanka thanking her for a fun day as they headed home as Ooshen prepared for sleep herself. Not knowing that she had been cheated...
