My usual go-to motivation is something along the lines of being for a school project. Doing research on giraffes or something along the lines. Whatever ends up working out. Gives it a good reason to be a long-term year-long school project, which is a good length of time for stretching a pone.

There was some art commissions that inspired a few of my fimfiction stories, and discussion with the commissioner of those pieces steered me down the right course.
