My first avatar, in full resolution.
This was one of my first experiments with caustics, I like how it looked, but was far too slow to render.

Quite simple in C4D
The ball is 50% transparent and has a refraction index of 1.4 (about glass), and the light source has both surface caustic (for the bright spot on the floor) and volume caustics (for the visible light shape) active, both with 10000 sampling photons.
It does takes almost 10 minutes to render, because volumetric caustics are very calculation intensive. In retrospective, I guess I could optimize it, by reducing the number of photons and increasing the general strength of the effect.
Hope this helps in any way.
