I've been thinking, after reading through this and looking at the comments, I think I get the princess here. Not "relate," just "understand." She seemed to enjoy tormenting her prey, hearing their screams like that, but once they're done begging and ask her to just end it, it's no longer fun for her. She seems to love the power that doing this brings, but once someone accepts their fate, there's nothing left for her to enjoy. Would I have liked to see her spare the mouse after that? Actually yes, but seems princess here has her own idea of fun and probably lacks empathy at all.
Barring a sudden change of heart on her end, this is all just speculation. *shrug*
Side note, really like her design. I was always a sucker for well-implemented bright colors.

You might be right. A lot of predators enjoy when their prey is squirming and thrashing around. It might be the case with the princess. She wanted to feel the mouse move and fight the unfair battle. It would give he more pleasure from both: The psychological point, begging her to spare their lives or cursing her for all eternity. And physical, where all those punches, kicks, scratching, would be similar to a internal massage.
But now that this mouse maind was broken and she begged to be finished, it's not fun anymore. She'll just slide into princesses stomach and lay there, just like some boring food. And maybe pathetically sobbing, to what the princess will have to listen, [ I don't remember if that was mentioned. but i don't recall if the cat was really digesting her subjects.] until She either lets them out or they are digested.

It seems that something struck a wrong note with the princess. She liked teasing and tormenting the mouse but now... She looks like she either has second thoughts about that or this didn't bring her the joy she expected. It's getting psychological, i like it. [Tho i still hope the little mouse will survive that, she seems too cute and innocent to be digested.]
