And thus ends the monarchy, the king never to be heard of or seen again. Some theorise the change was complete, and that with the mind of a rabbit he simply hopped away. Some theorise he was caught by a predator and eaten. Some theorise he changed once more and that no-one now knows what he is. And some theorise he simply took the chance to leave behind him the stress and responsibility of ruling a kingdom in exchange for a simpler life. But no one truly knows.
Some fact stuff if anyone wants to get a pet rabbit: You should never purposefully get a rabbit wet unless you're very careful about it. There are A LOT of bad things which can happen to rabbits as a result of them getting wet.
Their fur dries extremely slowly, combined with the fact that they have extreme difficulty regulating their body temperature, means that they develop hypothermia extremely easily, even on warm days and where warm water is used, water cools down very quickly. And on the other hand if they're dried off with something hot like a hair-drier they can overheat or get burned.
And actually the stress itself of water can be dangerous. Their legs are much more powerful than the rest of them which means that they can break their own bones if they panic and struggle too hard, their spine in particular is exceptionally brittle and flexible, designed for running, and is especially vulnerable to their own kicks. And if that wasn't enough there have actually been semi-common cases where they die of heart attack from the stress.
... Oh yes and water in their ears can cause painful infections.
Bunnys are brittle creatures.
With that said... rabbits can actually swim. It depends on the individual and how experienced and comfortable they are around water. They have large feet with noticeable webbed skin in between their toes which they use to paddle with, and can cross water to escape predators in the wild as long as they stay near the surface and don't submerge entirely.
