This story was commissioned by and was a joy to make. Thinking about this character's descent into his fixation with art was a great opportunity to explore the mental aspects of change that occur in such a story like this. Feeling misunderstood can often result in isolating yourself from others who have good intentions in wanting to help you. It can be scary for those lost to the depths of despair to reach out to something or someone outside of themselves when they don't know what kind of result they will get.
