Well not really. This is the newest, and last, for a while, of my collection. I designed the marking around his eye. ^^ It turned out very well. I love his droopy ears, you can see the tip protruding from his hair. This ones name is Nalin, his character is a half elf and half water fae, which is why his eyes are like that.
If you feel the need to remark that he is creepy, then I reffer you to here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/837361/ and suggest you read it before commenting. If you do not like dolls, do not comment, I dont want to hear it.

I dob't know ifthereareany other safe brands to use on dolls (some products will melt resin.. it'sascary thing)
Next, youneeda REALLY REALLY tiny brush... I went to my art store and asked for their smallest one (it was abig store with awhole wall of brushes,so Iwasable to findwhat Iwas looknig for)
Then for paint.... any water basied acrylic should work...nooils, no usinghuman makeup.... Iliekto use abrand called P3... it'sused for painting miniatures froma wargame, but Ilove the wide range of colours (especially natural tones) but I wateritdownso itdosn't applytoo thicky...I usually go half/half then build upwithmore paint if I need to...

Okay, so I may get shot for this ...
I don't like dolls, and I find them creepy ... WAIT I'm not done yet ...
I don't like dolls, and I find them creepy and yet I would buy this and very happily have it in my room.
Dolls are those things that grandma had in her house to scare you when you had to leave your room in the night and walk past them in the hall to go to the bathroom.
This ... this is a work of art.

No, I dont mind. They are rather expensive, but most hobbies these days are. It takes me quite a bit to save for any. You can do a search on the net for them, just type in BJDs or Ball jointed dolls. You should get several results. You will probably think Im crazy. -hides-
Yeah I know about Denver Doll Emproium. The thing with them is they take forever since they are basically a go between.. from what I have heard anyhow. I prefer to by direct from the company. Nope, they arent..x.x But for me they are worth it. They have helped with my depression. Nalin was actually one of the cheaper ones for his size.. other then Rail, who I got for 150.
So are you going to get ... well I guess I shall call him Nalin's brother ... meaning a Sapphira model as well? I will admit that I have been having a very hard time deciding which of those two I prefer. Yes, my big guilty secret is that elves are one of my biggest turn on's throw in blond hair and green eyes and you have a real life melting Driger on your paws (um, i know TMI ... but those are the only physical turn on's I have *shrugs*)
Um, since my Chinese is somewhat rusty (or non-existent) what are they made from? I mean in some of the images on B&G's main site they look like porcelain - but in others they look like some kind of resin. (oh and I see what you mean about go-between ... doing the currency conversion Denver throws on a $100+ price bump up, i can import it for less than that markup).

Hehe, no, I didnt really like the sapphira sculpt very much. And character wise Nalin is an only child. Iv decided to take a little break from buying anyhow, since I maybe moving.. so moving with more then I have right now will be a bit stressful.. Haha XD Are you looking at Rozen Garden? Or the store on ebay? The main site is run by a lady named Layla.. or something like that, and doesnt respond to e-mails or anything.. Its best to get them off of the ebay store.
Ball jointed dolls are made from a high quality resin. Its much more durable then porcilien, making them easier to play with without the worry of breaking them.. although they do break some times...x.x so Id watch out for dropping them, or having them take a nose dive, even though they stand on their own and are completly poseable. Yeah.. so I prefer to just buy from the companies.. even though shipping can be pricey. Are you seriously interested in getting one?

actually I was looking here ... http://en.ibgdoll.com/ ... which I found a few hours ago as the English version of the company's (which is based out of China) website. What amuses me is the fact that they sell them for $389 (well Afra is) however if you pull up B&G's main site ( http://www.bgdolls.com.cn/ ) they are ¥1880.00 which works out as $275 ... what a nice markup for selling outside of their own country huh?
But yeah, I must admit that I am seriously considering getting Afra but I'm kinda wondering if I have the nerve to hand paint it myself or have it done for me ... I'd hate to screw up something that expensive and I do tend to second guess my own lack of talent when it comes to things that are 'artistic' so to speak.
Now admittedly I do have to pay off a couple of bills first (tv, computer ...) but once that's done (hopefully the first few months of next year) I think I can honestly say I'd rather get myself an elf than go to Furry Fiesta 2010.

That is funny. I got my afra off the ebay store. Since I got no response from the main sites.
For a first time Id suggest getting a face-up done. They do custom, or so Id assume, and so you can design your own face-up for him. Id also suggest looking into getting clothes with him for your first, so he isnt sitting around in the bathrobe he comes in, as well as a wig that you like.
Good luck in your saving. ^^ If you want any more help or anything, Id look up Den Of Angels. Its a great forum with lots of info and pictures.
