For years I used to draw lots and lots of monsters. They would be inspired by some of the craziest things. One of the few I can remember clearly was one based on of all things a peanut plant, because Jimmy Carter was President at the time. I can probably thank Toho Studios for all those unusual creations since those were the days of Megalon, Gigan and Hedorah appearing as Godzilla's opponents and Godzilla was one of my favorite things to watch in those days. After I started getting into anthropomorphics, I quit drawing the monsters so much until I stopped altogether when I started drawing furry porn. I guess I should have kept up with the monsters and been way ahead of the hentai curve, but I didn't. Anyway, I was watching this Orkin commercial with what appears to be a six-foot tall cockroach attempting to deliver a pizza. Rather than think of pest control, I zeroed right in on the unusual shape of the eye and the anntenae and had an inspiration. It's taken me a while to even get this design to this rough stage but thought I'd post what I had so far to see what others might think of it.
