Are you still okay doing artwork featuring removal? Are these fetishes listed in the form about how, say a neutering, would be done in the artwork?

I specifically don't want to do graphic surgery. Popping in the sac, injections that kill balls etc are okay. Mainly if I have to crack open a veterinary textbook, it's too graphic. A quick snipping off of the entire sack is acceptable as long as I'm not drawing internal anatomy.

I've got to be honest...after speaking to a friend of mine, one who's been waiting for a PAID comic commission from you for almost a year now. To go and make all these changes is...well...beyond unprofessional. Given that your artwork does help with your income still I'm assuming?

It's like a contractor accepting a job to build someone a house, taking their money, then saying that they're not gonna get everything they asked and PAID for in the original agreement and not only that but you get to make any changes you want in the end. That's not a very good way to do business dude.

If people absolutely want a detailed commission, please ask for the refund. I knew this would anger a lot of people., but when I took this work on I was enjoying it a whole lot more. I'm not making any income atm except 1-2 small things a month to feed my animals. I know this is not the way to do business. It's the way to get out of debt(owed art) as fast as I can while still offering a choice of art or refund. I thought to myself 'well what CAN you draw?' and made a list that I would find somewhat enjoyable. I just want to open a file, look at some images and go "Alright. These two dudes with footplay, ropes, and a MUST HAVE rupture. All my brainpower can go into colors, perspective etc in the comic. After I get all the backlog done, I will likely be retiring because I just can't seem to do it anymore.

I've seen other artists completely burn out and just be unable to keep drawing. Good on you for trying to work with people to make things right. It's not worth killing yourself over something that used to just be for fun.

Yeah, after discussing it with Tiercel, he and I would like a refund. We didn't pay $160 and wait nearly a year, with next to no communication, just to have our idea thrown away and turned into artistic freedom.

I fully understand the idea behind wanting that for yourself, but you'd agreed on an idea with us. You took our money, went silent for like 6 months, and never even gave Tiercel or I an "Alright, got your money, this is how we're gonna do things;"

If you had communicated, maybe we could've come to some agreement. As it stands right now, though? We just want our money back.

I lost complete control of my life. I have genuinely been having a mental breakdown since I came home to live with my parents. I totally dropped the ball, and I know it's shitty of me. I just want to get everything done or refunded quickly, because making people wait is not fair. I figured it would be more fair to get funds back to people as soon as I could ( tax refund hopefully) than drag them along waiting while I sat here seemingly unable to draw gorey stuff til well into next year. If anyone wants to wait that long rather than switch, I would be open to discussing that. I'm trying to do the least wrong option but it's unfortunately at the cost of my reputation, as I knew it would be. I went soft.

I'm upset with the whole situation. It sucks, and I know it doesn't JUST suck for us (the commissioners) but you as well. I do, sincerely, hope you feel better soon. I hope you succeed. But I can't say I'm happy with, or can abide the business that's gone on over the past 8 months. (And that's not speaking of your personal life. That's none of my business, and it's not my place to make assumptions or judge.)

My own mental state hasn't been too fantastic lately, and I don't know what all YOU'RE going through, so I'm not gonna compare; I can at least say I can relate purely because mental health is fickle, and it sucks, and I understand.

sorry to reply to a near year old comment, but ive been waiting nearly 2 years for lenex to finish my comic from 2017 and im just wondering if you ever got your money back ?? hes not responded to the email i sent a month ago asking for a ATA and has made 0 effort to communicate with me since taking my money.

Funny you should ask, actually. Some time back Lenex said he would honor the original commissions.

My friend Tiercel and I were... Doubtful, but I was excited. I'll try to keep this short, but Lenex was probably one of my favorite artists; I really admired his work, and this whole deal has been a pretty awful blow tbfh.

Anyway, two months ago I got a WIP from Tiercel, he'd recieved from Lenex via email. Five days later, we received another WIP, of the second page of our comic.

I requested a few edits, Tiercel sent an email back, and since then? Total fucking radio silence. No more WIPS, no more communication.

The second page WIP we got was back in January, on the 16th.

Right now, I'm not too hopeful. It's not even about the money anymore, I'm just... crushed, tbh. I can't begin to express how upsetting it is to have an artist you admire pull shit like this; And, here's a real kicker, Tiercel? He's not even into this kink. I convinced him Lenex was punctual and trustworthy before we went and dropped $160. I feel like an ass.

At this point, I feel fucking teased and cheated. I just want my goddamn art, and If I were you, I wouldn't be too hopeful on a refund.

I feel the exact the same way. I admired his art a lot and it was my introduction to the BB community. I remember I was thrilled to finally get a commisson and when I bought my second comic and just to be ignored for 2 years...It hurts.

UPDATE ALL people who are given a comic refund are being written down. If/when I open again for periodic art, I will be offering you the first slots (with original idea at the orig. price.) I am doing this because I know some people ordered a sequel to an earlier comic and need the 'set'. I just am at an impasse right now. I can't get them done, and I can't stand the shame of them hanging over my head forever.

I am updating the form to clarify some things, and add a touch more control on your end. If you have already sent the old form (Next form will be marked 'version 1.1') but want to use the updated one instead, just add it to your email thread. Thanks very much~

I'm trying to make as many people happy as I can with this. I totally dropped the ball. I am trying to tame the wild horse my business became while I was having my breakdown. It's weird you keep thinking. Man. That was a wild mental breakdown. Glad that's over. Then a month later you realize 'oh.. still going? Never ended?'. Then like a full year later you're like '...STILL?! WTF is happening?!'

People are being really hard on you, and I just want to say I hope you're okay. We all make mistakes sometimes, and though I can't compare to your stress, I myself have requests, not comissions, that I feel shitty if I don't fulfill. If you want, we can talk on steam, and I could help you to the best of my ability to calm down.

Not to invalidate concerns expressed by others in this comment thread but I totally understand why you feel like you have to do this and as long as you're offering a refund, I don't know if I'd call it unprofessional. But I fully understand people who might feel that way.

Sometimes, health issues of some kind can get in the way of things. You try to create some closure by offering refunds or alternatives, and some people are upset about it. I can understand that they are upset, but I don't think you did the wrong thing. You draw things that take a toll on your mental health, and it brought you past a breaking point so that you could no longer continue doing the same things. This isn't any different from someone doing a more physical job, like a construction worker, having to stop working or reducing his workload after sustaining a physical injury.

Some people call this unprofessional, but there wasn't much else that you could do. You aren't a big company that has replacement artists ready when one cant draw anymore, but they expect you to be and that is unreasonable of them. This was the best course of action you could take, so you should not blame yourself for it.
