Sometimes Game Freak and Nintendo do things that make no godforsaken sense with their shinies. I figured I'd run through lineages and give my take on how I'd improve shinies, if I had the power to.

Don't get me wrong, the pidgey line is a personal fave of mine. I love sparrows -- the birds Pidgey is based off of -- and think they're just precious! But... shiny pidgey's dull golden tones don't really stand out to me. So a splash of blue here and some brown there takes things up another level.
