The drake had been out with a few friends at a party, intermingling with the other guests, lost in the alcohol and laughter that was bouncing about the crowd. He’d been so swept up in the fun that he didn’t notice a few weird party guests approaching him, a trio of weird masked lizards, nobody else seemed to pay them any mind. He was so wrapped up that he hardly paid them any mind, they seemed to be in some sort of plastic outfits, their eyes shimmering within the masks they wore, once they reached him two of them grabbed onto his arms. “W... whoa, bros, what’s going on?” he grunted. The world seemed to tip about him with every motion, he’d had far more to drink than he’d intended to.
“What was that, man?” one of his friends chuckled. They gave him a glance, but none of them noticed the trio of weird suited lizards surrounding him, apparently looking right through him.
“I... can’t you see these weird dudes?” the lizard asked. He felt a pit growing in his stomach, the lizards were holding some weird device in their hands, and before he could hear his friends’ response he felt them slap the square onto his chest. There was a powerful electric charge and then he was out, he didn’t know what his friends saw, but within the next moment he was collapsing into the waiting arms of the lizard drones. They picked his body up and started to drag him towards the exit, the remaining one turning to help fix his friends’ memories up, as far as they knew the drake hadn’t existed at all.
***
When the drake awoke he was standing in line with several other lizards, lizards of every color, muscled, lithe, a few snakes, even an alligator. “He... hey, what’s going on here?” The voice came from behind him, the drake attempted to look back, but his body wouldn’t allow him to... in fact he couldn’t do anything but stand at attention. He felt a tingle at his chest, he was able to move his head down slightly to see a strange web spreading over his chest, a lattice of white webwork growing over his chest.
“What’s going on here?!” another voice shouted out.
“Stop it!” A cacophony of voices were raised in response to the changes, part of the drake wanted to shout out too, but his head ached rather badly, and it felt nice to just let the changes take place. Where the webwork passed over he watched as the skin and scales underneath started to transform into metal, shining platework with lines in it, denoting the new plating of his body. His normally lithe body started to put on muscle as well, the metal pressing out into firm chest plating, even his abs starting to put on definition, a groan growing from with himself.
“What’s happening to me...?” he murmured. It was the first words he was able to muster, but they felt strange, as if coming from an empty can rather than his normal body, already his innards were being replaced with circuitry and robotic pieces, and along with that... a strange sense of pleasure accompanying it.
As if the others were all progressing at the same rate as he was, there were a few shocked oohs, and even a couple of moans. “Wooow...” a voice rang out.
“This feels... goood...”
“I need to get out... but...why?” The drake’s mind was growing hazy itself, it seemed like all of his thoughts, memories, and personality were being turned into a bunch of 0’s and 1’s, processing into something that a computer would recognize, but... he wasn’t a computer... right? He didn’t even realize that his head had already been converted, a visor over his eyes, his head encased in metal, and with every passing moment it was becoming less biological and more technological.
Any soft features the drake might’ve possessed moments before were transformed into cold metallic lines, fat trimmed away, his muscles turned into high density fiber capable of picking up things hundreds of pounds with no issue. With everything changing about him the drake felt a momentary disconnect, like his body wasn’t his, like he was a stranger piloting it, his body was becoming something else.
Prepare to be connected to Master AI.
“W... what’s a Master AI?!” somebody shouted. The drake noticed that the voice sounded more robotic now, almost like a synthesized voice from a computer.
“I don’t like this!” somebody else whimpered.
“Master AI commands received, Drone obeys!” The drake recognized the voice, it had been one of the ones nearby, but it had lost its lifelike quality, it sounded... wrong...
Suddenly the drake had a progress bar in his visor, uplinking him to the Master AI program, his mind recoiling as he realized that he wasn’t going to be his own person soon... Already his body was stretching itself without his permission, testing each bodypart, his new metallic tail clinking as it tapped the floor, his body still growing slightly as it finished its last changes into a drone body.
“Master AI commands received, Drone obeys!” Another voice joined the first, and others aside in the distance, numbers were appearing in the drake’s visor. They were Drone numbers, telling him that they were being interconnected, and he wasn’t too far off either...
“No! I don’t want to be taken, please God, save me!” The voice was distant now, the drake’s mind was opening wide to the AI, already it was reprogramming him, shoving all of who he was into the recycling bin, he had to be a drone, had to be a willing robot.
“Drone obeys the Master AI! Drone shall help convert reptiles into more Drones!” The original drone voice sounded proud, and part of the drake shivered in anticipation, he was about to become a perfect Drone too... wait... that wasn’t... right... was it?
A shudder went through the Drone’s body, all of the previous biological functions and memories had been deleted, the Drone drake standing tall, getting in line with the rest of its Drone compatriots. “Master AI commands recieved, Drone obeys!” the Drone echoed like its compatriots. Now the visor was being flooded with numbers, all of the other creatures giving up, their minds deleted, reprogrammed for the Master AI.
It wasn’t long before they’d all dedicated themselves to the Master AI, their bodies all pressed into tight rank, any self-consciousness deleted, their glowing eyes looking towards the monitor above them all, denoting their locations they would soon to be deployed. There was no extra movement, no unnecessary murmuring, they were all perfect, they were all Drones. No words were needed, they knew their business, the Drones piled out of the enormous room one by one, no pushing, no loss of motion everywhere, they fell into step perfectly.
The Drone lizard was moving in step with the rest, its steely blue gaze locked on the back of the Drone before it , but already its mind was rushing over the possibilities of transforming more reptiles. They had proven to be the easiest species to convert first, and soon enough once they’d converted all of the reptilian species they could move on to others, Master AI craved total control, and the Drones were its perfect tools. The Drone drake continued towards the exit, picking up several conversion devices, its mind racing through the possibilities of what the Master AI had planned for the earth once it was completely converted. Perhaps out in the stars there were species waiting to be turned, to be turned into the Master AI’s playthings... it couldn’t wait to see what was beyond the scope of the earth.

An interesting concept. The exposition was a little too repetitive for my tastes in places, but the end result was intriguing, to say the least. It would've been fun to see a bit more "interaction" between the converting unit and the Master AI program, but it is still an intriguing piece overall.
