No Ponies Required- Listening Over Hearing
Good afternoon to you all on our lovely Birdetturday!
With as much as I currently have on my plate to do, finishing up the last commissions for our inaugural charity event, (which I must again thank all of you wonderful folke for getting involved in *beams* THANK YOU for supporting this and being super-awesome sexy thangs! Also- THANK YOU to everyone who's already been up for pre-ordering ideas for Next Month's charity drive! Damn you are some sexy motherfuckers!) I had to push together a little something on the side to keep my marbles in a row.
Featuring the darkly arctic love of my Satanist heart,
Sanita_Squirrel- Sometimes we find ourselves in conversation *head tilts* the "what" specifically doesn't matter- but we feel somehow slighted by what someone else might say. Sometimes it's not what they say but how they say it. Other times, it's neither of these but more what we notice that they do not say. Any of these things, these missteps in communications cause injured feelings and tempers to flare. Before you know it, intrigue turns to confusion, acquaintances are gossiping about each other and good friends are at each others throats.
I think it's very important, especially when you're communicating over a sterile medium like the internet as many do these days, to recall that we aren't all the same person. We all come from very different walks of life, with very different experiences which shape us into the people we are. Sometimes we learn to communicate our emotions and intentions in ways which seem alien to another from a different way of life. We learn different words or turns of phrase, expressions and manners of speaking. Sometimes we have had experiences or just be at a place in our lives where saying certain things is... *winces, rubbing her neck* well... it's too hard for us. It may be scary or it may hurt too much... and that really sucks.
So the next time you're communicating with someone, be they a stranger or someone you love very dearly, try to recall that we're all different, yet still *folds her fingers into a heart shape* very much the same. *smiles* Sure, there are many MANY people out there who enjoy being ugly and hurtful. There are more who do not. It's far more likely that a difference in communication comes from a place of honesty or perhaps ignorance than it is a place of genuine malice.
*titters* Remember, lovely watcher, there are more ways to say things than you think. From always getting them their cup of water first at the gym to just the occasional compliment when you know they need the pick-me-up, try to be sure to Listen to what Someone is telling you, don't just hear the words. *kisses your hand* It can be the beginning of something more beautiful than you ever see coming. *grins* Love yourselves and Love Someone Else...

Ive always found I'm more elegant online. On the spot I usually try to find the right words, and can go quiet for minutes at a time in some cases. To some people I appear rude, but others know I'm just being careful with how to best say what I'm thinking. I know that communication is different to many people, both conveying and interpreting, but it honestly means the world to know there's people who not only understand you but understand the way in which you're putting yourself across.
Side note, I always enjoy these panels of yours. They give me something to think about and almost always bring a smile to my face 😁

I love this piece and what it stands for~
really needed to read this..
lately these past months or so theres been big exploding miscommunications between me and my best friend's friends'
I do often tell people I love them in a platonic sense that conveys "I like your company and I wanna hangout more so please don't get hit by a bus the next day because it'll make me sad"
really needed this pick-me-up
