This is a chapter by chapter story to the backstory of all my characters, but mostly focused on the origins and growth of my main character, Whiplash. Starting from hatch, to where he is now, this series sets out to describe how Whip came to be the snake he is today. Not all chapters will be as generally suited as this one, please keep that in mind. I would greatly enjoy some feedback or suggestions for things in future chapters, who knows, maybe in the future I may open up positions in the story for some of you! Hope you enjoy!
New Life
Darkness, a pitch black void being the only company that would welcome this new life into the world. Groggy senses would slowly begin to materialize in the mind, it was tight, walls surrounding every inch of what could only be assumed was himself. There was no air, a cool, slimy substance being the only other presence that could be felt. Slowly sound would meet his ears, a muffled roar of something he couldn’t begin to identify, nor did he care to, it droning on forever it would seem as more of his senses would crawl to life. Smell came next, or, at least tried to, the goo that surrounded him clogging his nostrils, only a faint musky smell able to be attained, but the sensation added to a slowly growing thought that seemed to be accumulating in his mind, a sensation of urgency, one of panic, a need to get out. A need to escape.
It would take every ounce of strength he had to force his stagnant form to move for the first time, his muscles crying out as they were awoken from their slumber, fighting the demand to move from the stasis they had been held in since their conception, but ultimately giving in. His head would push forwards against the wall of this void, and he could feel it begin to give, but would just push his head back down, just as quickly as he made it rise. The need for escape now omnipresent in his mind, clouding all other thoughts and sensations, including the screams of his muscles, this was all that mattered, he had to leave where ever it was that this was. He would shove his head forwards once more with all the strength he could muster, the wall giving once more as it had the previous time, but he didn’t let up, pushing more and more, determined to not let this wall push him back to that cramped position.
Then suddenly, it cracked. Darkness gave way to a light brighter than he had ever seen before. It burned his eyes, an uncomfortable sensation shooting through his body, but he was not about to curl up back inside whatever it was he was just inside of, he couldn’t, he pressed forwards. The sight around him would be extremely blurry, and that muffled roar was now louder than ever. A barrage of what felt like a less thick goo would pelt over him continuously, but he could not tell what it was. Slowly he would pull every last inch of his body from that walled off void and lay himself flat upon the cool, soft, green stuff that lay directly before him. He could only lay there, his mind now relieved of the burden of escaping that void he was once again greeted by the aching cries of his newly awakened muscles having been strained so much after such a long period of rest. He could only wait as his body would slowly recover, meanwhile, squinting his eyes as he tried to bring the blurry world around him into focus. Slowly the image of a vibrant forest landscape coming into view, grass and shrubbery lining the floor, and massive trees of pine and oak towering at every turn, their expanses seemingly endless. It was a maze, everything looking similar, each patch of trees seemingly only having the shrubbery surrounding it to identify it as any different from the last patch. He would notice drops of clear liquid falling from the canopy above now, a steady stream of drops falling to the forest floor, a soft tap able to be heard from each of them. He would just lay there, observing as his body regained its strength, slowly putting together the connection that this liquid was the source of the droning roar he was hearing. Still, as he lay there curiously observing his surroundings another droning presence would make its self known. Slowly a cramping tight feeling would begin to emit from his center, followed by several loud growls that sounded much different than the sound the falling liquid was making.
He would look back at his middle extremely confused at what was causing this, growing even more confused at what he saw. His body was long and round, about the size of a stick that was laying nearby, but slightly thicker, it was smooth and covered in overlaid shapes of diamonds, their color mostly the same as the stick, but seemed to have a stripe that mimicked the void he had just escaped from. He would wiggle some, thinking he still had some void on him, but it would not move, the droning in his center keeping him from pursuing that effort any further, this had to be figured out first. Slowly, he would once again attempt to push himself forwards and move, his body putting up a little resistance this time but slowly starting to get used to this whole concept of moving. He turning around entirely this time, in hopes he would find something other than the maze of trees he had seen before, only to be met with a slope that looked impossibly steep and tall, a small hallowed out shell resting at the base of it, its color that of the stick he had seen before, but little mind was paid there, this hill needed to be conquered, there had to be something new to see up there, possibly something to satisfy the droning in his middle, its cause still one of mystery. Slowly he would begin to inch his way forwards, the hill having a decent incline, though certainly not as vertical as the trees. There very little available for his body to hook onto in aid of movement, any sticks or small branches of bushes few and far between.
He would sit there for a moment, only a foot up the base of the hill, he balancing himself with his tail-tip on the more even ground below, staring at the top of that hill, he huffing out determined, needing to know what was up there, he would dig his snout into the softened soil and begin raising his body up. The dirt around his snout extremely moist, and very cool in temperature, he only now realizing that everything around him felt that way, it didn’t feel good. Just another discomfort he would have to figure out the cause of it seemed. As soon as his tail pivoted past his head its tip would dig into the soil just as he had done with his head, locking in and giving him something to move off of, he pulling his head from the dirt and continuing up, inch by inch. The process would take what seemed like an eternity, by the time he had reached the top he was entirely out of breath, a burning feeling in his middle along with the incessant droning that never really seemed to go away. He would take one look out over the landscape before him and blink, surprised to see even more brown shells just like the one he had emerged from at the bottom of the hill, yet, these ones looking much more shattered. There quite a few of them, though the exact number he could not tell, skeletons lining the floor around them, they long and full of sharp bits, with skulls that much resembled the shape of his own head. He didn’t pay very much mind to it though, he just excited that his trek up that hill revealed a sight other than endless trees! Unfortunately he didn’t have very much time to take in the view of these new surroundings, as a new sensation struck, smell, but this time, paired with what he could only figure was something warmer than the environment he was currently in, every instinct he having at that moment telling him to go towards whatever this was. He doing exactly that without any hesitation.
The sensation would lead him over to yet another bush, surrounded by two trees and a large boulder, a peek into the bush revealing what his snout had led him to. A large furry beast lay within that bush, its fur grey, white, and shades of that void, it nearly twice the length of his entire body, and much more thick. He froze, staring at this massive mammal, unsure exactly what it was, and why his mind had told him to go here so urgently, this thing could certainly kill him in an in- “bite it”. Mid doubt every nerve of his body screamed those words in his head, he closing his eyes and obeying, lunging at the beast, jaws open, sinking two fangs he didn’t even know he had into the mammal’s side, something beginning to flow through them and into the beast. The raccoon would wake instantly and hop up in confusion, leaving him sitting there panicked, whatever this was that was going into this beast, he would need all of it! He would shoot every last drop of venom he had into the furred beast, the raccoon barely having time to realize what was happening before it would collapse over, falling limp at the coils. He was shaking now, trembling from the rush of adrenaline, but ultimately extremely confused at what had transpired, or why he had engaged to begin with. Suddenly another voice would pop into his head, another instruction, one he could not refuse. “Eat.” The raccoon no longer looked like a monster in his eyes, something to be feared, instead, its scent filled his nose, making his mouth salivate, and that droning in his middle intensify more than ever, this was hunger, this was his purpose. Slowly he moved his head in front of the raccoons, a wide grin across his face as he looked into the eyes of the foe he had nearly slithered away from. A sense of pride overcoming him, this felt right, this felt natural, this was the natural order. Slowly he would move his head forwards, jaws open once more, this time however, no fangs included, his jaws slowly slipping over the raccoons muzzle, the flavor instantly taking hold of him. A strong meaty flavor all he was able to taste, though he currently had nothing else to compare this flavor to, it was delicious, and that’s all he cared about. His throat would instantly grab hold of the raccoons muzzle and start dragging it in to its pencil sized opening, his jaws stretching to an enormous size, yet to his surprise, it put absolutely no strain on the jaws. Its bones easily sliding from their normal positions to accommodate the incoming meal. This truly did feel natural. He would begin using a similar technique to how he managed to climb up the hill, inching his jaws slowly over the raccoons thicker sections one half of his jaws at a time, rocking back and forth as he did to aid the raccoon down inside of himself. His scales stretched, the overlaying design seeming to have a bit of function to it, the scales sliding out from underneath those atop it as his body was stretched, ensuring at no point did any soft flesh get revealed underneath them.
By the time he had the raccoon halfway down, nearly half an hour had passed, he having had to take several moments to rest. This was exhausting, but the filling feeling he was receiving from this massive creature already had the droning from his middle quelled to a much more ignorable hum. However he knew he couldn’t just stop here, he had to get the entire thing inside of himself, so he continued swallowing as strongly as he could, closing his eyes as he strained. His stomach, though already completely filled and stretched out continuing to take on this load, though, much like how when he was getting used to moving, this muscle as well was very much still getting used to stretching! Every so often a growl of protest escaping from it, trying to tell the brain controlling it to slow down a little, but being ignored constantly. Eventually it would just give an annoyed grumble before giving in and just going silent and stretching as much as it was able, the raccoon being curled around, bulging his stomach out even wider, but at least it wouldn’t have to stretch longer any more. He was speeding up now, past the raccoon’s stomach and waist all that was left was its legs and tail, he lifting his head and swallowing hard, opening his eyes to watch as inch by inch the legs disappeared past his jaws. A massive sense of accomplishment pouring over him, having nearly tucked away a creature twice as long, and much more thick than he was. He would take his take now, watching as its hind paws disappeared from view, and the tip of its bushy tail was all that remained outside his body. His tongue flicking over it a few last times, savoring the meaty flavor before giving two more strong swallows, pulling the raccoons tail tip past his jaws and down into his gullet. His body would take care of the rest now, automatically working to cram the massive raccoon into what had originally been a 1 inch thick, 4 inch long chamber. The full feeling he received from it was incredible, he letting out a sigh of relief, followed by an involuntary murr of pleasure.
He would look back at his swollen stomach to watch the outline of the raccoon’s feet paws join the rest of its body in his center, the outline of it clearly visible under his scales. He panted heavily and sighed, shivering, as a new sensation started to overcome him, his eyes beginning to feel oddly… heavy, he barely able to begin pondering what this new sensation was and what it meant before the veil of sleep would pass over him, the snake falling unconscious in an instant. The small serpent laying fast asleep in the safety of the bushes, his stomach eagerly getting to work over the massive meal that had been forced into it, desperate to break it back down to a more manageable size. By the time he would awaken an entire day would have passed, he opening his eyes as his thought would finish, now knowing exactly what that sensation happened to be. He turned his head and blinked, noticing his middle was already back to its natural size, as if nothing had ever been in it, in fact, he was entirely empty! Confused he moved his head to his middle to investigate, poking his nose against it to be met with another loud rumble! Quickly he backing up in shock at the stomachs outburst, he slowly beginning to inch his way back to poke again as he would notice the droning feeling resume, the same one he had experienced before consuming the raccoon… perhaps another one of those things would make it go away again.
Slowly he would twist and stretch his coils before giving a long yawn, wiggling a little to wake himself up fully before focusing once more on his surroundings. He smelling at the air, trying to find a source of anything else for him to eat, the signals he receiving in return proving overwhelming. He picking up traces of creatures all around him, hundreds of them, different scents, different sizes, some underground, some far above him, some miles away. He had no idea what he should go after first, the options were limitless! He sat there a while, taking it all in, never having expected that in a setting that seemed so still, so calm, so many other creatures were about, most all of them behemoths compared to himself, those he would try to avoid if possible. Slowly he would narrow his choices to a few candidates, one with a similar scent to the thing he ate last time, another a group of much smaller creatures, hiding in a burrow underneath a nearby tree, only one exit, easy catch. The last seemed a bit more challenging but its scent was interesting, it matched that of the creatures far above his reach, yet it was on the ground…. Perhaps this was rare, he had to at least try to catch this seemingly evasive creature if he could, if he could not, well, the burrow would still be there. Slowly he would poke his head from the bush he had been resting in and looked around, straight ahead, he couldn’t see anything yet, but it was there, he knew it, he could smell it. The area was heavily covered by foliage, trees mostly cleared from the area, allowing the underbrush to absorb much needed light from this sun-soaked oasis, growing out of control. From his position, all he could see was bush, after bush, after fallen log, after several hundred more bushes….. another maze. The only good thing about this one being that this maze at least had something seemingly exotic and most likely tasty at the end of it. He made a beeline for the source of the scent, traveling over branches and through bushes, not at all attempting to conceal his approach, figuring like the raccoon, this one would be just as oblivious. He was so close now, nearing in, the target still not at all seeming to be moving, 20 feet, 10 feet, 5. He would burst through the leaves of a bush into an open clearing, coming face to face with a large aven. It towered above him at a massive 1 ½ feet tall, the fur covering its body looking quite strange, they long, almost resembling the leaves he had been slithering past, but colors for the most parts matching his own, brown along most his form, and white along its belly and tips of its wings and tail-feathers. Its eyes instantly meeting his own, he wasted no time, quickly lunging forward to bite at the large strange looking creature but missing entirely as it soared above his head and high into the air. Leaving him extremely confused, this was not at all like the raccoon, this one moved, and not only moved, but was a really good jumper! His lunge ended with a nosedive into the soft, moss covered dirt, his head sticking into it upon impact, receiving a large mouthful of dirt.
For a moment he would just sit there, blinking, his mind reeling over what had just happened, this one MOVED. They weren’t supposed to do that! The last one was still, why wasn’t this one! He wouldn’t have too much time to weigh this conundrum in his head however, as the taste of dirt in his mouth was becoming unbearable, he wiggling his head out from its entombed position and quickly spitting out the mouthful of now wet mud. It thumping to the ground with a few wet splats, he just looked down at it for a moment, slightly disgusted, grumbling over the remaining clumps that refused to budge, before turning his attention back to the main issue, he was still hungry! He sniffed at the air a bit to attempt to locate his evasive meal, only to sense it above him, and approaching… FAST. He barely having enough time to turn and look up before a blur would move over him and a tight pressure formed at his middle. The impact was sudden, as if being hit by a truck, it knocked the wind, and the rest of the remaining mud in his mouth out of him instantly, his body flailing wildly in all directions off of pure reflex as he was lifted off the ground, and carried quickly up.
For a second time in less than ten seconds his mind was once again reeling, nothing about this seemed natural, nothing about this felt right, his body was tense, there was a very deafening sensation from his middle, not of hunger now, but instead pain. Sharp thorns squeezing in around his body, yet thankfully not piercing his scaled hide, though it not like the large aven wasn’t clearly attempting to do so. His mind would fill with panic, unsure at all what he should do in this situation, he looking all around, nothing to grab onto but this bird, and by now he was about a hundred feet in the air, the treetops far below him! He looked off in the direction the bird was moving, there directly in their path was a massive cliff face about a mile off, they only halfway up its height, and no telling what was on top of it, but something in his gut told him it was nothing good. He had to get down now, if for no other reason than this birds talons were extremely uncomfortable, he looked back down only to see a large clearing in the trees, a massive lake sitting in the middle of it, if he were to fall anywhere, that looked the most comfortable place to do so. He waited and flailed back and forth until just the right moment, gaining momentum as the aven flew along now without a care, figuring this meal was all his to take his time with, before being met with the same fate as the raccoon. He swung his head up fast in a single swift motion, his jaws open, he having just enough momentum to reach the aven’s throat, his teeth sinking in fast and unrelentingly pumping every single drop of venom he had stored in himself straight into the birds body. The aven had not even an instant to react, taken entirely by surprise, only a shocked squawk escaping it before its body began to seize up. Its grip the first to falter, the tiny serpent would plummet fast towards the lake now directly below them both. He flailed uselessly as he fell, nothing to hold onto, nothing to slow the decent, he was at the mercy of fate now, he could only hope that this would not hurt nearly as much as the birds talons did, his sides aching the whole way down, the only solace being a quick glance back up at the sky revealed the bird was too on a downwards spiral, but unlike him, likely was not about to hit the water. “Serves him right” would at least be the equivalent of what he thought as he dropped, only able to revel in his victory for a small moment as he impacted the water and another issue replaced his train of thought. How do you swim?
Landing with a small splash, he started to sink almost instantly, his body once more returning to reflexive flailing in all directions in attempts to move at all. He had just gotten the hang of moving on land, now he had to figure out water as well? How was he supposed to do that! Every instinct in his body screaming at him to hold his breath, do not breath, he wasn’t sure what would happen if he did, but somehow he knew he wouldn’t like the result. He looked down into the blue abyss below, he unable to see any end to this plummet, but he figured if there was a bottom, it would likely just be more water, he had to get back up. He looked around some, the sun shining through the water in beautiful beams, allowing him to view the lively surroundings. Fish swam by in schools, odd looking creatures, they had no limbs much like him, but they looked like leaves! Certainly odd, though they did look somewhat tasty, some much larger or longer than others. There were other limbed creatures inhabiting the space however near the surface. Large, lengthy creatures with short, stubby arms and covered in thick looking scales, something told him that he likely should try to avoid those for now if possible. The wiggling serpent was beginning to draw the attention of some of the lakes inhabitants, fish swimming up to stare at the falling object, analyzing it to see if it would make a good meal before swimming off, most deciding the one foot serpent was too large. He watched each one as they came by, thrashing and flailing as they did, he was somewhat getting the hang of moving his head and tail in certain directions, but his middle was hopeless. He knew his only chance was to get a hold of one of these fish, they seemed to know how to move quite well, if one could just get close enough. His lungs at this point were burning and he was growing light headed, how long had he been there, maybe a few minutes? How deep was this lake?!?! His flailing had paused his descent slightly, but only hindered the downwards motion, not at all raising his body up in any regard. He looked back again as another fish approached, this one coming right for him, and it was huge, at least five times his size, and jaws already opened. The sight was shocking and struck the little serpent with an inkling of dread, but he knew this was his only chance, he wiggled his body around a little more to attempt to avoid the fish’s open jaws and waited. The fish closed in, 15 feet, 10 feet, 5.
The serpent with all his energy thrusted his body out of the way of the charging fish’s maw and swung his own open jaws straight onto one of its fins, his fangs clamping down into it, the fish began to flail wildly. He could feel small drops of venom drip into the fish’s body, he meeping not having though he had any left over, he only hoped the fish would make it to the shore before it died as well. Either way, wherever it went, he was along for the ride now, and the fish was going wild. Darting back and forth, up and down through the water in seemingly random directions, fortunately it not yet showing any signs of seizing up, perhaps that amount of venom wasn’t enough to kill such a large beast. Suddenly however it would turn around, changing direction entirely and traveling straight up, the beams of light from above getting closer, and the ground becoming visible, the fish was actually taking him to the shore! It was almost like a dream, somehow, some way, this was working out, and he couldn’t believe it. Though that revelation was short lived, as the fish rocketed its self out of the water and beached its self entirely on the lakes shore before it too began to seize up and go still. He payed little mind to the fish however, it was a miracle, he was back on land, and he could breathe once more! He wasted no time in taking advantage of that luxury once more, breathing in fast and deep, providing his starved lungs and body with that much needed oxygen, his body trembling and shaking as it regained its energy, he not even having realized how drained he really felt. With a couple more gasps of air, he pulled his fangs from the large fish’s fin, and slowly inched himself away from it, looking the now still corpse over. It seemed a couple drops were enough to kill after all, he would have to keep that in mind, instead of emptying his entire supply on one creature at a time. However this consideration would quickly be cut off by his original reason of having gone out in the first place, the droning sensation in his middle once again becoming deafening, it was the only thought he could think, now more than ever, he needed to eat, and he needed to eat now. The fish would do nicely, as he knew attempting to locate that bird would be far more trouble than it was worth, it was likely on the other end of the lake for all he knew. Instead of wasting his time searching, he would just move himself slowly in front of the fish and open his jaws wide, dinner was served.
The fish’s head was wider than the raccoons was, and got thicker much faster, he quickly discovering another challenge to this meal, there was very little for him to hold onto without biting down. The fish’s slick body refusing to sit in his jaws for very long, it slid all about, though pleasantly he found once he got it started, it slid in super easily with very little resistance! The flavor, though a new experience, was nothing much to write home about, definitely not worth the effort he would have to put in to experience it another time, it was super salty, with a hint of something else he couldn’t quite name, but it was certainly fishy. His jaws were stretched extremely wide, yet, not impossibly so, knowing he could likely stretch them larger if a need across. This fact even surprising him a little, as this was by far more of a stretch than any point of the raccoon, and he was still working over the thickest point of the fish, the arch of its back and rounded middle quite the daunting task to take! He only barely reaching its fins as the fish’s head started to poke into his stomach, it growling out noisily at him, demanding the full fish inside. He obeyed, knowing his stomach would continue droning on if he didn’t manage to make this fit, and he wasn’t about to go after another creature after how his last attempt went. His jaws inched along, over the fins, down the body, around the stomach, the process taking what felt like hours, his throat becoming sore from the strong heavy swallows it took to move the gargantuan fish along. Though the task wasn’t hopeless, he was over the hump, his jaws stretched further than he could have possibly imaged them being able to stretch, only the tail was left. He was overjoyed, a rush of adrenaline kicking through him, he shifted his skin tight, bulged form, forcing the fish to curl up inside of himself before pushing onwards. He now no longer having to use his teeth as much to hold the fish in place, it was an oddly liberating sensation, his throat now left to do most the heavy lifting. He moved now to sets of rhythmic swallows, two heavy gulps, followed by a long pause, before a third, and repeat, he managing the fish in several inches at a time using this method.
His jaws were allowed to slowly relax the more and more he ate, reaching skinnier and skinner sections of fish, his jaws slowly began to set themselves back into place. It was the home stretch before long his only thoughts ones of excitement and amazement, shocked by his own ability to pack something so impossibly large away, this was truly a victory! Excited he raised his head and opened his gullet, giving two more massive “GLRRK’s” the fish’s tail slipped past his jaws and down into his heavily distended body. He left there huffing and panting out from exhaustion, again, a meal so large having taken a ton of energy from the little serpent. He smiled back at his now sated stomach, lightly patting it with his tail, feeling his taught scales, rubbing over the clear outline of the fish inside, though, oddly, even as tight as it was, he knew he could fit more in there, his stomach was even still asking occasionally if more would come! Yet he wasn’t even sure if he could move, this place really was not very hidden, he just lying on the rocks of a lake bed, the tree line wasn’t anywhere remotely nearby. He continued looking around, trying to sense if any threats were nearby. There were the massive reptiles still, most of them having gathered on the far end of the lake, nowhere near himself, he figured he was safe from them, but he noticed something odd nearby them. A large white object with a marking that looked like a tree painted on the side with symbols he was unable to read even if they were at a close distance.
He noticed two odd looking creatures walking around nearby it, seeming to be observing the same group of gators, one even seeming to stop and begin speaking to the largest of the group. He sniffed the air focusing heavily on the group and the two odd bipeds, their scent was similar to others creatures nearby in the woods, yet, their build was way different. They wore pieces of fabric over their bodies that seemed to mask their scent a little, the symbol embroidered on it the same as the one featured on the large truck, a green pine tree, cartoonish in design, not at all a match to the real thing, but close enough to match the general shape. He noticed one of them was holding a black object to their eyes, looking around, scanning the lake, his mind wandering off to what that object might be, he having never seen anything like that, nor having really anything to compare it to, it definitely wasn’t a rock, he could rule that out. His mind wandered so long he barely even noticed that when he focused back at the person, they were staring directly at him, frozen in place. He froze as well, unsure what to do, and also unsure what that thing was, both creature and object, was it dangerous??? He started trying to move yet his swollen middle hindered any possible movement, his attempts as useful as his flails in the water earlier! He looked back up, the biped was running over to the other as it spoke to the gator, their words unintelligible but from what he was able to hear it sounded a slight mixture of excitement and panic, the black object was given over to the second biped, it holding it to its eyes as well. That movement followed swiftly by a drop of the object to the floor, quick words to the gator and both rushing back into the large white vehicle. Blinding lights beginning to emit from the unknown beast as a loud unnatural roar rang out, sending the little serpent in a panic, he had been clearly spotted, and he needed to get away, now!
The truck lurched forwards, picking up speed quickly as it drove around the lip of the river, the excitement and confusion in the air was ecstatic, this was far too good to be true. What had meant to be a standard observation check on the wilds had by chance led to the rediscovery of what was thought to be a recently extinct species. A live Glinted Rattlesnake, just there, sitting on the edge of a lake, and by its size couldn’t even be a one year old. Rhys would look over at his partner just to see if she was just as taken back by this discovery, the fact she was shifting in her seat and for once speechless seeming to confirm that she in fact was. Jayda was always a really good conversationalist, it’s the reason she was always a first pick of his for these types of trips. The wilds were at best, an unpredictable environment, with ferals always jockeying for position, trying to become the alpha of their regions. To do anything out here, whoever the alpha was needed to be made aware of it, and agree to it first, less you risk “disappearing”. But Jayda, she seemed to have a way with the muscle heads, always able to convince them to let us do our work in peace, of course, in return for a promised meal. Rhys would turn to Jayda as he drove, the lake, though not too large, taking quite a while to travel from one end of it to the other. “What do we do with this one? Do we… take it back to the lab or- “Jayda would cut him off snapping back “Are you crazy??? We don’t have the equipment on hand to be transporting….. THAT. We have to alert the authorities.” Rhys would shake his head “No, it’s not a full glint, did you see its tail? There was no rattle.” Jayda would cross her arms and shake her head “ Still, you know what that species is capable of, you know just as well as the ferals out here, if it has even some glint genes……. Ugh…. It’s, it’s just too much of a risk.” Rhys sighed and nodded a little in agreement to that sentiment, knowing full well what happened the last time and adult of that species tried to claim the city as their “territory” wiping out entire blocks in the process, but knowing they had to take it back. “We can’t just leave a glint out in the wild either, it gets away, we will have the same issue in a few years… it looks like it just ate, and it’s really little, it likely can’t move around much, if we throw it in the back and cover it up, I don’t think it’s going to go anywhere.” Jayda shook her head, looking outside, they were rounding the bend now, the glint was there, and wiggling right in front of them where they had saw it. “I think we should tell Nar-.“ “She doesn’t need to know about this, besides, if she finds out we missed one we may never be allowed back in these woods again, after how our crews trampled everything and still didn’t get them. We have to bring it back.” The truck would pull up beside the snake, Rhys gulping nervously, looking back at Jayda, who refused to move, giving a look that said “ if you want to bring it back, it’s all on you” he nodding slowly to that before clicking open the door, and carefully stepping out.
The massive white beast would roll up just feet away from his head, the little serpent gasping out and wiggling harder than ever, unsure about all of this, just wanting to get back to the trees and hide. That task unfortunately made impossible by his engorged middle, only his neck and tail tip left to flail wildly as the side of the large beast opened up. An idle growl emitting from it as the strange clothed biped would step out from within the large white thing. Now up close he could somewhat identify what he was, he was furred like the raccoon was, even sporting similar colors, but much more canine in appearance, the exact species he could not place, but the scent that came off him was very similar to ones he smelled in the woods. It appeared to be keeping its distance just as much as he was attempting to, in uncertainty, he hissed out loudly, in attempt to get the large biped to go away, it seeming to be circling around him. It froze for a moment at the hiss but then continued to side step along, working around him more and more, he was trying to get to his tail. He hissed louder, trying to move his head back to defend his tail, but his bulged middle hindered his flexibility by a massive amount, he unable to reach past his center. The anthro seemed to take full advantage of seeing that display, quickly moving forwards, grabbing his tail, and lifting him up. The little snake swung his head back in the opposite direction to attempt again only to find his head pinned quickly by the other paw of the large biped. Furiously he wiggled and thrashed, trying to free himself from the grip to no avail, he finding himself being fully lifted up and carried, his head forced to look back at the lake as he was moved to an unknown location. The biped was saying something, it sounded excited, though he could feel it’s pulse through the creatures paws, its heart was racing, it was absolutely terrified, at least there was the solace in knowing that little fact.
Suddenly he would felt himself be sat down against a hard, smooth surface, his eyes looked around, it was dark, and the walls around him seemed to vibrate a little. He was being placed inside the beast! He hissed out heavily in protest as his head was held to the ground, the rest of his body being moved inside, his head facing outwards, able to see the coast as well as the heavily sweating and nervous biped, every fiber of his being wanting to bite him so badly. After what felt like an eternity of repositioning he would suddenly feel the pressure on his head release, his paw letting go. The snap response his body demanded being to quickly lunge back out at him, the action alone, while missing the wolf’s paw causing him to jump back extremely fast, its head snapping away from the trucks rear, he not even taking a moment to recover before slamming the back gate shut and running back to his front seat. The vibrations slowly became more intense and another roar let out nearby. The little snake left wiggling, unsure exactly what was happening, or where he was going, but one thing was certainly clear. He was being taken somewhere.
New Life
Darkness, a pitch black void being the only company that would welcome this new life into the world.
